Joey Votto made his first start for Buffalo and he did indeed hit a big fly. Buffalo won easily. Rafael Sanchez threw a complete game shutout for New Hampshire. It was just seven innings but complete games are rare in the minor leagues. A number of the Jays lesser pitching prospects had had nice starts in the past few days. Alex De Jesus drove in five runs between the two games. Vancouver took one on the chin. Dunedin were tropical stormed out.

Buffalo 10 Worcester 1 - 8 innings

New Hampshire 3 Binghamton 0 - game one

New Hampshire 5 Binghamton 1

Tri-City 15 Vancouver 3

Dunedin at Daytona - postponed

Three Stars

Third Star - Will Robertson

Second Star - Alex De Jesus

First Star - Rafael Sanchez

NOTES

The Bisons had eleven hits with every starter getting at least one hit. Joey Votto homered and walked. If he stays healthy Joey should definitely get some major league time before the end of the season, to at least get some positive PR for the team. Will Robertson stayed hot, doubling twice and driving in three runs.

Paxton Schultz started and he and Luis Quinones threw seven innings with four hits allowed between them.

Rafael Sanchez threw a complete game shutout (7 innings) in the first NH game. He struck out five. He threw 101 pitches, that's the highest I recall a minor leaguer throwing in some time.

In the sixth inning Josh Kasevich doubled to score Ryan McCarty. RJ Schreck had a bunt single with an Alex De Jesus double scoring the two base runners. Just five hits for the Fisher Cats.

In the second game De Jesus hit a three run home run in the first inning to give him five RBI on the day. He walked in the third inning and scored on a single by Garrett Spain.

CJ Van Eyk started game two and went three innings. He gave up an unearned run. Dahian Santos struck out four in 2.2 innings.

The Vancouver game was close into the fifth inning. Carson Pierce threw 4.2 innings with just one hit allowed. Tri-City scored two unearned runs off him in the fifth thanks to two errors, one by Pierce himself. Three relievers gave up 12 runs in 2.1 innings.

The C's scored three with nine hits. Marcus De La Rosa hit his first home run. Victor Arias had two hits.
