NOTES

Alan Roden hit a grand slam home run in the eighth inning to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 lead. But just like the parent club the bullpen couldn't hold it. Hayden Juenger gave up a home run in the bottom of the eighth and Jose Cuas did the same in the ninth. Off to extra innings. Mike Mayers came on and got an out, but then Damiano Palmegiani made an error letting the lead runner get on third. He then scored on a single. The error was Palmegiani's third of the game and ninth of the season.

James Kaprelian made his first AAA start for the Jays. He went three innings with three runs allowed. Yimi Garcia struck out two in one inning. Damiano Palmegiani and Gabriel Cancel each had two hits.

New Hampshire continued the game that was suspended in the first inning yesterday. NH were winning 1-0 when the game resumed. The game became a bullpen game for the Fisher Cats, they used six pitchers. Trailing 2-1 in the seventh Rainer Nunez singled to tie the game with Josh Kasevich scoring. In the bottom of the ninth, with two outs, Zach Britton singled and subsequently scored on a double by Devonte Brown.

Alex De Jesus had three hits and two strikeouts in five trips. Nunez had two hits and two RBI. Michael Turconi also had two hits. Josh Kasevich went 0-4 and his batting average is now under .300 at .296. His average has been over .300 for three months.

Two home run were enough for Vancouver to eke out a one run win. Jeffrey Wehler hit a two run shot in the second inning and Peyton Williams hit a solo shot in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. The C's had just three hits in the game.

Rafael Sanchez needed eighty pitches to get through four innings. He was charged with two runs. Three relievers shut out Everett the rest of the way.

In the bottom of the fifth inning in Dunedin Yeuni Munoz was caught stealing. He was injured on the play and had to be taken away on a backboard. The game was called at that point with Dunedin leading 2-1. The Jays have said that Munoz is stable in hospital without disclosing the injury.

The Jays first run came off the bat of Joey Votto, a solo home run. Later Edward Duran triped to drive in Christian Feliz who had been hit by a pitch.

Fernando Perez started and the first hitter of the game took him dee But after that Clearwater had just one more hit over five innings. Perez struck out five. That was his last start before next weeks futures game.
