NOTES
It was a bullpen day for the Bisons. Yosver Zulueta started, went one inning, and gave up a run. Hayden Juenger had a very Juengerian outing. Four strikeouts in two innings but Toledo also took him deep twice. Trent Thornton came off the IL today and pitched an inning. Andrew Bash was just promoted from AA. He went two innings for the win.
Ernie Clement and Danny Jansen homered for the Bisons. Clement had three hits including the game winning RBI in the ninth.
I heard Casey Candaele talking on the Fan590 about Davis Schneider. To paraphrase, he said Schneider has an uppercut swing and has to work on his defence.
Trenton Wallace made his AA debut for NH on Friday. His start was not good, a walk and a double that led to a run. His finish wasn't good either, three hits led to two runs. In between those innings he pitched well. He was followed by Adrian Hernandez who went 2.2 innings with no hits or walks.
NH were down a run with two outs in the ninth. Then Orelvis Martinez doubled in the tying run. It was a bloop double into right field but it worked and it was his second hit of the game. earlier Sebastian Espino homered and Damiano Palmegiani doubled in a run.
CJ Van Eyk hadn't pitched in almost a month but he was back on Friday and went three perfect innings. He was replace by Kendry Rojas who gave up five runs in four innings.
In the FCL Christian Feliz, the large first baseman, went deep twice and drove in three runs. Al Pesto got the win. Pesto is unusual in the FCL, a 26 year old who had been pitching in independent ball. He got a contract because he was throwing 98-99 mph. Pesto pitched a clean inning with one K.
In the DSL David Guzman homered and singled and drove in three runs.
