Sorry! Another late MLU. Just one game and it was not a good one. It could have been two games if Dunedin had forced the Florida State League final to a third and deciding game but that did not happen.
Rochester 7 Buffalo 3
Cullen Large drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single in the first inning. John Aiello produced a sacrifice fly in the fifth and Stevie Berman homered in the sixth to cut the Rochester lead to 4-3 before the Nationals affiliate pulled away with the win. Otto Lopez had three hits and walked in the leadoff spot, raising his batting average to .297 and his OPS to .793. Number two hitter Addison Barger and cleanup hitter L.J. Talley added two hits apiece with Talley getting a double and drawing two walks to reach base four times like Lopez. Davis Schneider drew two walks in the number three spot in the batting order. Trevor Schwecke had the other single. The Herd hit into two double plays and stranded 11 men on base after going 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Casey Lawrence was whacked for four runs in the fifth inning, including a three-run homer. He allowed five hits but struck out seven with zero walks and six groundouts over five frames. Nate Pearson gave up just one hit and struck out four over 1-1/3 innings, throwing 14 of 22 pitches for strikes. Shaun Anderson surrendered two runs in two-thirds of an inning and Anthony Kay was dinged for a homer before getting the final two outs.
