Buffalo and New Hampshire lost. Dunedin got in one game of their scheduled doubleheader and won. Vancouver's game against Tri-City was suspended due to rain. It will be picked up today with a seven-inning game to follow after that.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 5 Buffalo 2
Bowden Francis was beat up for four runs in the third inning against the Yankees affiliate. He allowed four hits and two walks and struck out five over his three frames. Graham Spraker served up a solo homer in 2-1/3 innings. Lefties Eric Yardley and Colt Griffin combined for 2-1/3 scoreless innings.
Cullen Large homered in the fourth and L.J. Talley singled home a run in the seventh as part of a four-hit night. Nathan Lukes doubled and singled. Eric Stamets was on base three times with a hit and two walks and Spencer Horwitz had a single, a walk and a hit by pitch. Gabriel Moreno and Logan Warmoth had a knock and a walk apiece. Tanner Morris walked twice. Buffalo went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.
Richmond 3 New Hampshire 2
The Giants affiliate broke a 0-0 tie with a run against Parker Caracci in the seventh and added a two-run home run against Jake Elliott in the eighth to hold on for the victory. Caracci stranded two runners for starter Paxton Schultz by getting the final out of the sixth. That allowed Schultz to have a scoreless 5-2/3 innings in which he scattered four hits and four walks and struck out nine.
Rafael Lantigua singled home both Fisher Cat runs in the eighth. Orelvis Martinez singled with one out in the ninth and pinch-runner Cam Eden stole second and third but was stranded. Zach Britton and Trevor Schwecke had the other hits for New Hampshire. Will Robertson drew the only walk. Addison Barger was hitless in four at-bats.
Dunedin 3 Lakeland 1 (7 Innings)
Rainer Nuņez launched his 15th homer of the year in the second inning and drove in another with a base hit in the sixth. An RBI single by Estiven Machado in the third proved to be the winning run against the Tigers affiliate. Machado drew a walk and Angel Del Rosario had the other base knock. J.C. Masson had a base on balls. Gabriel Martinez and Victor Mesia were 0-for-3.
Troy Watson uncorked a wild pitch for the only Lakeland run. He gave up three hits and a walk but struck out five over two innings. Sam Ryan worked around a hit and two walks and struck out two in two shutout frames for the win. Harry Rutkowski tossed three innings of one-hit ball and struck out five for the save.
Tri-City 0 Vancouver 0
Dasan Brown got a gift double as he fouled a ball off his foot but he took off for first and a throwing error by the pitcher sent Brown to second. Brown stole third and came home on a throwing error by the catcher but Brown was sent back to second because Damiano Palmegiani was called for batter interference, a questionable call to say the least but Brown should not have been on base to begin with. Brown later stole third but would be stranded. Riley Tirotta drew a walk in the first inning. The C's are still looking for their first run of the series as they have been blanked for 11 innings.
Michael Dominguez gave up a two-out first inning double and a one-out single in the third but struck out six over three shutout innings before the rains came.
