The affiliates were 0-3 Tuesday. Dunedin's game in Clearwater was rained out. Those teams will play two today.
Worcester 2 Buffalo 1
The Red Sox scored once in the ninth off Kyle Johnston for the winning margin against the Herd. Casey Lawrence allowed a run on three hits and struck out six over 5-2/3 innings. Eric Yardley gave up a hit and a walk but got the final out of the sixth. Vinny Nittoli and Graham Spraker tossed perfect frames with Nittoli striking out the side and Spraker whiffing one.
Jordan Groshans singled home the lone run for the Bisons in the sixth, driving in a Gabriel Moreno base knock. Groshans had two hits but the Buffalo hit leader was L.J. Talley with three. Eric Stamets and Logan Warmoth had a base hit apiece with Warmoth pinch-hitting for Stamets. Chavez Young had a leadoff walk in the ninth but Cullen Large lined into a double play and Warmoth struck out to end the game. Otto Lopez and Spencer Horwitz walked with Lopez stealing a base.
Binghamton 8 New Hampshire 2
The Mets affiliate scored four times off Sean Mellen in the middle innings and another three against Parker Caracci to knock off the Fisher Cats. Alejandro Melean gave up one run over three hits and a walk but struck out three over 2-2/3 innings. Thomas Ruwe got the final out of the third and Jimmy Burnette put up a zero in the fourth. Ryan Boyer pitched 1-1/3 shutout innings and Braden Scott got the final out for Caracci in the eighth.
Addison Barger and Rafael Lantigua both homered to give the Cats a 2-1 lead. Luis De Los Santos had two hits to tie Barger for the team lead. John Aiello singled and walked and Orelvis Martinez had a base on balls.
Everett 2 Vancouver 1
The Mariners affiliate scored twice off Naswell Paulino in the fifth and sixth to defeat Monty's Mounties. Paulino served up a solo homer in the fifth before giving up a two-out RBI single in the sixth after getting ahead in the count at 0-2. Nick Frasso needed 26 pitches to get out of the first but he pitched four shutout innings with four strikeouts and two hits allowed in his 55-pitch outing. Frasso retired the last 11 hitters he faced. Juan Nuņez and Jol Concepcion combined to pitch three shutout innings with Nuņez striking out three over 1-1/3 innings and Concepcion ringing up two..
Damiano Palmegiani homered in the second inning to give the C's the lead. He was a triple short of the cycle and stole a base but he did strike out with the bases loaded with one out in the third when the Canadians had a chance to break the game open. P.K. Morris then grounded out back to the mound to leave the bags full. Anthony Morales had the other hit and also drew a walk. Dasan Brown had a walk in his Nat Bailey Stadium debut. He almost homered in his first at-bat but was robbed by the Frogs left fielder who made the catch against the short fence. Steward Berroa was saddled with the golden sombrero. Vancouver hitters struck out 17 times and were 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
