The affiliates only played two games on Sunday. Games in Vancouver and Florida were rained out. Buffalo and New Hampshire both had bullpen meltdowns.
Buffalo 1 Scranton 5
New Hampshire 2 Portland 4
Spokane at Vancouver - postponed
Dunedin at Fort Myers - postponed
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
The Bisons used six pitchers to give up five runs to the Yankees. Buffalo hitters had seven hits, Otto Lopez was 3-4 and he had the only extra base hit, a double. In six games since he returned from Toronto Lopez is 10-24. That is much better than the .225 he was hitting before he was called up.
The New Hampshire game was not a well played game. New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a throwing error by the Portland catcher. Chris Bec reached on an error in the fifth and scored on a double by Cam Eden.
In the fifth a hit batter, three walks, and two singles, one of them an infield single let Portland score three runs. Another infield single led to a run for Portland in the eighth.
New Hampshire had six hits, Eden had two, both doubles. Paxton Schultz started and went 3.1 innings, 51 pitches.
Three Stars
Third Star - Pass
Second Star - Cam Edeen
First Star - Otto Lopez
