No, it's not Orelvis Martinez who went deep twice, it was the other Martinez, Gabriel, for Dunedin. He drove in all four runs but it wasn't enough as Dunedin were held to four hits. New Hampshire were also held to four hits and they lost too. Vancouver managed eight hits but that too was not enough. Buffalo were rained out.

Nate Pearson made an appearance. Also note that the FCL will start play on June 6th, just ten days away.

Buffalo at Columbus -postponed

New Hampshire 3 Akron 4

Vancouver 3 Hillsboro 4

St Lucie 7 Dunedin 4

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Hayden Juenger got back on track with a good start. It was short as most Juenger starts are, just three innings. He was taken deep for the only run he conceded. He struck out three. He was followed by Brady Lail who allowed the other three runs.

New Hampshire was held to four hits. Two of them were doubles leading to runs. Rafael Lantigua and Luis De Los Santos were the doubles hitters who scored. John Aiello also doubled but did not score.

Yosver Zulueta took the loss for Vancouver by giving up two runs in 3.2 innings. The first came via an infield single, a stolen base, a passed ball and a sac fly. In the third a single and a walk were again followed by a steal, in this case a double steal, and a ground ball scored the run. Zulu might need to work on holding runners. He did strike out five in his 3.2 innings. Conor Larkin was charged with the other two runs.

Addison Barger homered for the first C's run. Riley Tirotta delivered the other two with a bases loaded single. Davis Schneider tripled to lead off the ninth putting the tying run 90 feet away. But a trio of strikeouts around two walks, one intentional, left the bases loaded and gave Hillsboro the win.

Gabriel Martinez went deep twice. Both were two runs shots giving him eight on the season. That gave him four RBI, all the runs for the Jays. It is turning into a break-out season for the 19 year old. The Jays had just four hits.

Kendry Rojas started but lasted only one inning. He needed 31 pitches, 17 strikes, to get through it and so was pulled. Nate Pearson also threw 30 pitches over 1.2 innings and he also was pulled having hit what was presumably his limit. Jonatan Bernal, who often starts, came on in the fifth innings and threw four shutout innings.

Three Stars

Third Star - Addison Barger

Second Star - Jonatan Bernal

First Star - Gabriel Martinez
