Taylor Triple Helps Herd Win

Samad Taylor had a two-run triple in the fifth to give the Herd the lead. Taylor, Gabriel Moreno and Jordan Groshans all had three-hit games and Otto Lopez was on base three times with a single and two walks while stealing a base. Chavez Young hit into a sacrifice fly double play 7-4 in the seventh to plate what turned out to be the winning run.

Nick Allgeyer limited the Guardians affiliate to three hits over five shutout innings. He struck out one and recorded eight groundball outs. Shaun Anderson gave up all three runs in two-thirds of an inning. Joe Biagini stranded both of Anderson's runners and earned with the win with two strikeouts over 1-1/3 shutout innings. Adrian Hernandez allowed a run in the ninth but got the save.


Akron 11 New Hampshire 8

The Fisher Cats had four two-run innings and had a 2-0 lead after the top of the first but the Guardians erupted for nine runs in the first two frames for the win. Phil Clarke gave the Cats the early lead with a two-run homer and Orelvis Martinez and Zac Cook followed suit in the fifth and eighth. Clarke also had an RBI single among his three hits and L.J. Talley had two. Will Robertson had an RBI double.

Luis Quiñones only lasted one-third of an inning, getting lit up for six runs (five earned) on four hits and two walks. Marcus Reyes did not fare much better as he was roughed up for three runs in 2-2/3 innings and allowed an inherited runner to score. Andrew Bash had 3-2/3 shutout innings of two-hit ball with two whiffs. Mike Ellenbest gave up the other two runs in the eighth.


Hillsboro 12 Vancouver 8

The Diamondbacks affiliate put up the game's first 12 runs for the win. Chad Dallas was thrashed for nine runs in 1-2/3 innings but five were earned after an error at third by Riley Tirotta. Dallas gave up seven hits and two walks and struck out one. Garrett Farmer gave up a run in 2-1/3 innings, Alex Nolan was nicked for two runs (one earned) and Will McAffer did not allow any in their two-inning stints.

Miguel Hiraldo hit a two-run homer in the sixth to get the C's on the board as part of a two-hit game. Steward Berroa had an RBI single as he had a three-hit night, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. Cameron Eden was the hit leader by going 4-for-4 with two doubles and a stolen base. P.K. Morris and Andrés Sosa each had a knock and a walk.


St. Lucie 8 Dunedin 6

The Mets grabbed a 5-0 lead and held off a late Dunedin rally for the win. Adrian Pinto had two hits, including his first home of the year, and was hit by a pitch. He also stole his 10th base of the season. Jommer Hernandez also had a two-hit game. Gabriel Martinez had an RIB double and Rainer Nuñez singled home another. Estiven Machado doubled and drew two walks as did Damiano Palmegiani.

Michael Dominguez was dinged for three runs on five hits, two of them homers, over four innings but had a 7-0 K/BB total. Justin Kelly was jolted for another two dingers resulting in five runs over two innings. Wilgenis Alvarado also served up a tater in three innings.
