This is your abbreviated, long weekend, 12 hour power failure, minor league update. Zach Britton was the offense for Vancouver in their win. He went deep twice, including a walk off bomb, and scored all of the C's three runs. Gabriel Moreno had four hits including his first home run. Buffalo won in eleven innings. New Hampshire lost despite hitting four home runs. Hayden Juenger and Adam Kloffenstein ran into some trouble.
Syracuse 11 Buffalo 12 - 11 innings
New Hampshire 5 Erie 8
Tri-City 2 Vancouver 3
Dunedin at Daytona - rained out
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Gabriel Moreno went 4-5 with three RBI including two RBI to tie the game in the tenth inning. He also hit his first home run of the season. Logan Warmoth also homered while Samad Taylor drive in three runs with one of his two hits. Otto Lopez was 2-4 with two walks.
Thomas Hatch pitched a no hitter for six innings but when he left the game Bowden Francis was lit up fir seven runs in 1.1 innings. That often happens with players who return to AAA after a major league stint.
Hayden Juenger has hit a bit of a rough patch after a good start. He allowed four runs in four innings. He gave up just four hits but three of them were extra base hits. Adam Kloffenstein made his AA debut and he was great through three innings. But in his fourth inning it went walk, single, double, home run.
The Fisher Cats hit four home runs. They came from Orelvis, Sebastian Espino, Spencer Horwitz and Will Robertson.
Naswell Paulino pitched well for Vancouver, one run allowed in five innings. Zach Britton was the star hitter, going 3-3 and scoring all three runs. He hit two home runs including the walk off in the ninth.
Three Stars
Third Star - Babriel Moreno
Second Star - Thomas Hatch
First Star - Zach Britton
