The slumping (losers of four in a row, seven of their last nine) Blue Jays clearly need a friendly spot on the schedule to get themselves turned around.
Oh, crap.
I mean, when was the last time the Blue Jays won a series at the Trop, that haunted House of Horrible?
Well, it was last April to be honest. The Jays roughed up Tyler Glasnow for four first inning runs, capped by Marcus Semien's three-run HR (he was batting sixth, it was early days). Steven Matz and four relievers (Chatwood, Phelps, Mayza, Dolis) held the Rays to three runs. The Rays won the next day, breaking up a 3-3 tie on a couple of Romano walks and a Biggio error, but Toronto took the rubber match 1-0 - Ryu had to leave in the fourth with a pain in the glute, but Mayza, Chatwood, Borucki, Phelps, and Dolis allowed just two hits while shutting out those Devil Fishies the rest of the way. (Remember when the 2021 bullpen looked good?)
SO it can be done, kids. Honest and true.
