The affiliates nearly had a perfect night, winning three out of four Thursday.
Buffalo 9 Lehigh Valley 7
The Herd scored four times in the ninth to break a 5-5 tie and break the spirits of the Phillies affiliate. Langley, BC native Kellin Deglan enjoyed a great organizational debut with a two-run home run and an RBI single. Otto Lopez singled, walked three times and scored three times while Tyler White reached base ... wait for it ... three times with two doubles and a walk while driving in a run. Richard Ureña doubled home and singled home a run. Cullen Large belted his 5th homer of the year and walked and Christian Colón was 1-for-5 with two RBI. Juan Graterol singled, walked and was hit by a pitch. Forrest Wall was 0-for-6 but stole his 15th base of the year. Logan Warmoth was hitless in four at-bats.
Nick Allgeyer was ripped for three runs on five hits and three walks, striking out two and picking off a runner over 3-1/3 innings. Jeremy Beasley gave up a run in 1-2/3 innings and struck out three. Tommy Milone was nicked for an unearned run over two innings. Hobie Harris struck out two in a one-hit eighth to get the win. Travis Bergen gave up two runs in the ninth.
New Hampshire 6 Reading 2
The Fisher Cats rallied for five runs in the fifth inning to knock off the Fightin' Phils. Vinny Capra got New Hampshire FC on the board with an RBI single in the fifth before singling home two more in the ninth to punctuate a four-hit night. Demi Orimoloye went 3-for-4 with two doubles and Jordan Groshans had an RBI double in a 2-for-4 night. Tanner Kirwer walked, stole his 11th base of the year and scored New Hampshire's first run in the fifth but was replaced by Chavez Young defensively in the top of the sixth and he finished 1-for-2.
Casey Lawrence went six innings and gave up two runs on five hits, striking out five and walking nobody. He hit a batter and divided his eight outs in play among the infield and outfield. Fitz Stadler pitched one-hit ball for two frames and struck out two to pick up the win. Kyle Johnston walked one in a shutout ninth.
Hillsboro 5 Vancouver 1
Orelvis Martinez got Vancouver on the board with a home run in the first. That's his second homer in three games with Monty's Mounties. He's hitting .167 with an OPS of .833. Will Robertson and Philip Clarke had the other hits with Clarke getting beaned by a pitch. Tanner Morris and Andres Guerra worked the count to ball four. Luis De Los Santos got nailed with the rawhide.
Alex Nolan took the loss after yielding two runs on eight hits over five innings but struck out five with zero walks. Brian Rapp gave up the other two runs in the sixth. Hayden Juenger made an impressive debut with two strikeouts in a perfect inning for his professional debut. Justin Maese surrendered an unearned run but struck out five in two frames.
Dunedin 8 Fort Myers 0
The D-Jays scored in five different innings to blank the Twins affiliate. Riley Tirotta singled home the winning run in the second inning, drew a walk and took one for the team. Miguel Hiraldo had two run-scoring knocks. Steward Berroa doubled, walked three times and stole his 35th base. Hugo Cardona swiped three bases after getting a single and getting plunked. Harrison Ray was 2-for-5 and Dasan Brown had a double.
Sem Robberse was sensational, allowing just one hit and one walk over five scoreless frames. He struck out four in his 62-pitch outing, getting five groundball outs. Elixon Caballero retired all six men he faced on five fly outs and one line out. Rafael Monsion allowed just the second Fort Myers hit of the night and issued a walk but struck out one to give him two goose eggs.
FCL Tigers West 5 FCL Blue Jays 5 - Game Suspended
Josh Palacios drew three walks in four plate appearances, his last came with two outs in the bottom of the sixth before the game was halted. Gabriel Martinez was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Amell Brazoban had a double. Rikelbin De Castro and Victor Mesia heard ball four once.
Jonatan Bernal gave up four runs, all unearned because of his own throwing error, three coming on a home run. He gave up two hits and two walks and struck out two over two innings. Edgar Castro allowed a unearned run in 2-1/3 innings. Geison Urbaez stranded a runner for Castro, walking two but whiffing three in 1-2/3 innings.
