The Blue Jays affiliates won four out of five Wednesday thanks to a doubleheader sweep and a big come-from-behind victory. An extra-inning loss prevented perfection. The FCL Blue Jays game against the Yankees was rained out. It will be made up on August 9 so save that date on your calendar.

Buffalo 5 Worcester 1

An RBI single and a sacrifice fly from Cullen Large was enough for the Herd against the Woo Sox. Large, Corey Dickerson and Richard Ureña had run-scoring knocks, an extra-base hit and multi-hit games with Ureña going 3-for-4. Kevin Smith had a 2-for-5 day at the plate and Forest Wall had a double. Eight Bison hitters had a hit and Tyler White reached base with a walk.

Fireballing lefty Tommy Milone—the key to the Jays fading playoff hopes—is clearly ready to make an impact with the big club again by striking out two of the three batters he faced to open the game. Zach Logue took over and walked just one batter over four shutout frames, striking out eight and getting three groundball outs. Tyler Chatwood pitched a shutout sixth despite two walks. Connor Overton gave up three runs over two innings but struck out three. Bryan Baker walked one and whiffed two in a scoreless ninth.

New Hampshire 6 Portland 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

A three-run home run by Nick Podkul in the fourth paved the way to victory over the Red Sox affiliate. Chavez Young also went deep for his fourth homer of the year. Otto Lopez had an RBI single and two walks and Samad Taylor drove in a run with one of his two singles. Austin Martin had two hits and stole his ninth base of the year. Jordan Groshans singled, walked and took one for the team.

Reilly Hovis yielded just an unearned run on four hits and a plunk over five innings. He struck out three over his 68-pitch outing. Kyle Johnston finished up with two shutout frames.

New Hampshire 6 Portland 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

A wild pitch in the sixth inning allowed Samad Taylor to score the winning run and give the FC's the doubleheader sweep. Taylor opened the inning with a double. Chavez Young had an RBI triple and Jordan Groshans had a sac fly in the first inning. Young and Rodrigo Vigil had two-hit efforts while Austin Martin singled, walked and was hit by a pitch. Otto Lopez was 0-for-4.

Fitz Stadler surrendered a two-run homer and walked three in 1-2/3 innings to open the game. Marcus Reyes stranded both Stadler runners and struck out four over 2-1/3 innings of one-hit ball. Connor Law—in his return from Vancouver—picked up the win with a 1-2-3 fifth that included a punchout. Graham Spraker struck out four in two perfect frames to collect the save.

Vancouver 10 Spokane 9 (11 Innings)

The C's came back from 7-0 and 9-7 deficits to upset the Rockies affiliate. D.J. Neal drove in the winning run with a sac fly. Will Robertson tied the game in the eighth with a two-run homer—his first of the year—as part of a four-hit night that included three doubles and three runs batted in. Rafael Lantigua belted a three-run home run and had two run-scoring singles to give him a five-RBI night. Tanner Morris was 2-for-5 with an RBI knock.

C.J. Van Eyk coughed up seven runs in the first inning, four of them were earned after a throwing error by Luis De Los Santos at short. Van Eyk managed to make it through 4-2/3 innings, giving up four hits and four walks. He struck out six and got the infield to handle nine of his 11 outs in play. Adrian Hernandez stranded a runner for Van Eyk, allowing two runs on a hit and a plunk. He struck out five over three innings. Justin Maese gave up two hits and a walk but struck out two in 2-1/3 shutout frames to pick up the win. Cobi Johnson rung up two batters in a perfect 11th to get his first save.

Bradenton 4 Dunedin 3 (10 Innings)

Zach Britton singled home Dasan Brown in the first inning after Brown reached on an error and stole second base. The other Dunedin runs scored on a throwing error at third. Miguel Hiraldo racked up three hits, P.K. Morris had two and Mac Mueller had a hit, a walk and a stolen base. Orelvis Martinez was 1-for-4.

Trent Palmer lasted four innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks while ringing up four batters. Jol Concepion put up a pair of zeros and struck out three. Rafael Monsion whiffed one in a scoreless seventh. Julian Valdez also threw two scoreless innings before giving up a leadoff single in the 10th to score the placed runner at second to take the loss.
