Kevin Smith homered in the first inning and doubled in the walk off winner in the ninth. It was the only affiliates win on the night. New Hampshire only gave up three hits but lost 5-2. Vancouver and Dunedin lost one, the FCL Jays lost two.
Lehigh Valley 5 Buffalo 6
New Hampshire 2 Hartford 5
Vancouver 4 Hillsboro 7
Dunedin 1 Clearwater 3
FCL Blue Jays 3 FCL Phillies 10 - game 1
FCL Blue Jays 4 FCL Phillies 6 - game 2
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Buffalo won in a walk off in the bottom of the ninth. Ina tied game Breyvic Valera led of with a single, on of his three hits on the night. Kevin Smith followed with an RBI double for the win. Earlier, in the first inning, Smith homered.
Jacob Waguespack started and pitched three shutout innings. Nick Allgeyer and Joel Payamps each allowed two runs.
New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead in the second when Reggie Pruitt doubled in both runs. Demi Orimoloye and Chris Bec had two hits each. The red hot Vinny Capra had one hit, a double.
Simeon Woods Richardson cruised through three innings. At that stage he had six K's and had allowed no hits. But the fourth started walk, home run and that seemed to unsettle him. He walked two more that inning. In the fifth a walk and a single put two on. SWR did get two more K's and he was pulled. Brady Rodning came on and immediately gave up a three run home run. Hartford had only three hits but two of them were home runs that produced five runs.
Vancouver's Nick Fraze came off the IL to pitch two shutout innings. Cameron Eden was also supposed to come off the IL and was in the original lineup. But he was pulled before the start of the game.
Ronny Brito hit two home runs and drove in four. It was the 5th and 6th homers for the 22 year old. Unfortunately he also made his eleventh error. Phil Clarke also had three hits to push his average over .200. It has been a very disappointing season for the catcher.
Sem Robberse threw four innings. He ony allowed two earned runs but that was off six hits and tree walks. He only struck out one.
The D Jays had just five hits. The run came on back to back doubles by Dasan Brown and Addison Barger.
Rikelin De Castro had two hits in game one. He is hitting under .200 but getting close to it, at .194 now. JJ D'Orazio, the 19 year old catcher, had two hits and is hitting .346. He hasn't walked yet this season. You can't walk off the island, or in this case, out of Venezuela.
In game two, Dahian Santos who had been pitching well, couldn't get out of the first inning. A pair of 18 year olds, Gabriel Martinez and Angel Del Rosario, had two hits each. Both are hitting well this early in their season.

Third Star - Ronny Brito
