A clean sweep on the farm. Two of the wins came in extra innings. New Hampshire scored two in the ninth and eight in the tenth. Several hitters had big nights. Dunedin got a triple in the tenth from Mac Mueller to win. Buffalo won from the front with Thomas Hatch and Nick Allgeyer pitching. Vancouver got ahead early and cruised, Adam Kloffenstein pitched well.
Scranton 2 Buffalo 4
New Hampshire 14 Portland 6 - 10 innings
Vancouver 9 Spokane 4
Dunedin 8 Lakeland 7 - 10 innings
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
It took Thomas Hatch 51 pitches to get through two scoreless innings. He was on a 50 pitch limit. Nick Allgeyer came on in relief and pitched four innings. He was just tagged for one run but he had nine baserunners, seven hits and two walks.
Cullen Large stayed hot with three hits and two RBI. Kevin Smith had a double and a walk.
Gabriel Moreno was 4-5 with a home run and two doubles. He scored three runs and drove in three. LJ Talley was 4-6 with two doubles and two RBI. Kevin Vicuna was also 4-6.
Portland took the wood to Zach Logue, nine hits and six runs allowed.
Adam Kloffenstein is back on track, five innings with just one run scored off him. He struck out six while allowing three hits and three walks.
Cameron Eden hit a three run home run in the first inning, he drove in four runs. Justin Maese was uncharacteristically tagged for three runs in one inning.
For the second night in a row Orelvis Martinez hit a three run home run. And for the second night in a row, too, Leo Jimenez had a multi-hit night. He had four hits on Friday, his average has jumped from .182 to .275 in a week. Mac Mueller tripled in the tenth inning to deliver the win.
Lazaro Estrada started and struck out five in four innings. Rafael Ohashi followed and was victimised by some bad defense. Only one of his five runs was earned. The last batter he faced hit a home run.
Three Stars
Third Star - LJ Talley
Second Star - Leo Jimenez
