The Blue Jays affiliates won three of four Wednesday. #WeAreBlueJays

Buffalo 4 Worcester 1

The big story in this one was Juan Graterol as his two-run home run in the second inning gave the Herd a lead it would never relinquish. El Grate needs to be called up now by the Blue Jays as he is hitting .480 and has a hit in all seven games this season. He had two hits and a walk. RBI singles by Christian Colon and Riley Adams provided the insurance runs.

Like those old Justin Trudeau ads, Alek Manoah is just not ready and clearly needs to stay in the minors for the rest of the year. Why? He failed to deliver six shutout innings because he gave up a home run to Chris Hermann who is no Juan Graterol by the way. Hermann is only hitting .235, proving Manoah is not quite ready yet for prime time. Despite striking out 10, walking one and giving up four hits over six innings. that Hermann homer was just too much. You didn't see Curtis Taylor, Kirby Snead and Hobie Harris give up any home runs, did you? They proved they're ready for the bigs with a shutout inning apiece. Chris Hermann, please!!

Portland 3 New Hampshire 2

Look! Kyle Johnston did not pull a Manoah and give up a run. He pitched 5-1/3 shutout innings! I'm not even going to point out he needed Brody Rodning to strand two runners for him because he is Kyle Freakin' Johnson and facts are for fools! Johnston totally dominated by striking out three guys, only giving up four hits and walking two. Unfortunately, Rodning would give up two runs in the seventh to take the loss. Andrew McInvale pitched the final 2-2/3 innings, giving up a run but striking out four.

Kevin Vicuņa had the only two-hit game for New Hampshire and drove in the first run of the game. Chris Bec singled home an L.J. Talley double in the ninth. Chavez Young and Otto Lopez had the other base raps.

Vancouver 6 Hillsboro 1

The Hillsboro Hops may want to serve an eviction notice to the Vancouver Canadians to leave Ron Tonkin Field immediately. The C's are the roommate the Hops do not want right now as they handed the Barley Boys their second straight loss in as many nights. Tanner Kirwer launched the second pitch of the game for a home run. Kirwer would score on a Philip Clarke double in the fifth before Cameron Eden went deep to score Clarke. He also stole his 12th base of the year. D.J. Neal singled home the final run in the sixth and had the only two-hit night for Vancouver.

Troy Miller walked five in five innings but limited Hillsboro to a run on two hits while whiffing four. Lazardo Estrada and Justin Maese finished up with two scoreless frames apiece. Estrada struck out two and Maese rung up three.

Dunedin 5 Clearwater 1

Jol Concepion drained the swamp against Clearwater with six shutout innings, retiring 11 of 12 at one point. The Threshers featured "Sweet Swingin" Matt Joyce on rehab assignment who doubled off Concepcion before striking out. According to his bio page, Joyce's nickname is "Sweet Swingin'". I'm not making this up. Anyways, Concepcion scattered three hits and a walk and struck out three for the win. He also produced 10 groundouts and one flyout. Thomas Ruwe put up a zero in the seventh. Jiorgeny Casmiri coughed up the only run on one hit and three walks. Gabriel Ponce stranded the bases load and recorded the final four outs for the save, getting one strikeout.

P.K. Morris doubled home Dunedin's first run and Addison Barger tripled home the second. Morris and Leonardo Jimenez had the two-hit nights for Dunedin. Ryan Sloniger, Jose Rivas and Jhon Solarte brought in the other runs.

*** 3 Stars!!! ***

3. Tanner Kirwer, Vancouver

2. Jol Concepion, Dunedin
