It hasn't been a good start to the season for the Dunedin Blue Jays but it got worse on Saturday when they were no hit by Bradenton. They held Bradenton to just two runs, their second best pitching performance of the year, and all for naught. Conner Overton made his second "emergency" start and pitched six shutout innings as Buffalo won again. New Hampshire took a bullpen loss. Austin Martin had two hits but was pulled from the game in the sixth. Vancouver won behind Adam Kloffenstein.

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Conner Overton was thrust into the starter role last week and he threw four shutout innings. That earned him another start and this time he threw six shutout innings. He gave up two hits, didn't walk anyone and had three K's. He just needed 63 pitches for his six innings. Curtis Taylor, just called up from New Hampshire, was responsible for all three runs although Kevin Smith made two errors on the same play to make all the runs unearned.
There were no big offensive blows in this game. Five of the runs scored on singles, one with a ground out and one on an error. Breyvic Valera led the offense with three hits. Kevin Smith had two.
Through four innings the only base runner by Somerset reached on an error. The first hit conceded by Zach Logue came in the fifth. Somerset scored two off Logue in the sixth with two infield singles and a double. His final line was 5.2 4 2 2 0 8. In his last start he also started strong and gave up runs late. He either needs more stamina, a changed repertoire the second time through the order, or he could be headed for a bullpen role. Mike Ellenbest took the loss by being taken deep, twice.
Austin Martin was 2-3 with a stolen base but he left the game in the sixth for an undisclosed reason. Otto Lopez was 2-4 with a walk. Gabriel Moreno went 1-5 and saw his average drop by 45 points. Jordan Groshans had the night off.
Adam Kloffenstein went six innings, throwing 79 pitches. He allowed one run on two hits with two walks and four K's.
Mitch Horwitz and Phil Clarke each drove in two of the four runs. They had two hits each.
As noted above, the Dunedin Jays had no hits. The only hitter of note was Justin Ammons who walked three times.
Sem Robberse started and pitched three shutout innings with two hits allowed. Alejandro Melean gave up the two Bradenton runs.
