This is so weird. We're one week away from the September stretch run.
Our homeboys welcome a couple of AL East foes to their Buffalo lodgings. First to arrive will be the Red Sox of New England. The Boston outfit has turned back the clock. They're taking us back to those wonderful days when they came up with players like Tris Speaker and Babe Ruth, saw them emerge as stars, and then traded them away. They were punished for this foolishness in the past, and they're being punished for it again. Should we kick them while they're down?
Oh God, yes. Yes we should. We definitely should.
The Jays meanwhile placed their best player and their hot-shot pitching prospect on the Injured List and promptly ran off their longest winning streak in years. They even went into the Trop and won a couple of games.
Because everything is very weird.
