Conor Fisk delivered his best start of the season and Anthony Alford homered as Buffalo won. Joey Murray lost in a rain shortened affair. Simeon Woods Richardson, like Murray, pitched well in a losing cause. Eric Pardinho didn't pitch well but Lansing won anyway. Bluefield's bats were racking up the hits including Miguel Hiraldo who homered and drove in five. The GCL Jays lost, but the DSL Jays won.

Buffalo 7 Toledo 2

Akron 2 New Hampshire 1 - 7 innings

Clearwater 3 Dunedin 1

South Bend 5 Lansing 9

Vancouver - All Star Break

Bluefield 12 Greeneville 9

GCL Phillies 6 GCL Blue Jays 3

DSL D-Backs 6 DSL Blue Jays 10

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Anthony Alford is back with the Bisons from rehab and he celebrated. He finished 1-4 with a three run home run. There is a surplus of outfielders in Buffalo now, Alford, Billy McKinney, Dalton Pompey, Roemon Fields, Jonathan Davis and Socrates Brito are all looking for playing time.

Conor Fisk has been a part time starter, part time reliever for Buffalo this year. His high for strikeouts in a game was six before yesterday. Fisk picked up ten K's in five innings here. He also just allowed three hits and one run. Was it a fluke or a sign of something new? We will have to wait to find out.

Kirby Snead had a big 2018 and earned a promotion to Buffalo mid-season. As a lefty he is holding left handed hitters to a .188 average. Overall he is striking out a hitter per inning with a WHIP around 1.25.

Joey Murray keeps rolling along. He threw six innings, five hits, two runs, four walks and three K's. His ERA is 4.50 but remember he is just 22 years old and was drafted last year, his progress has been excellent.

In case you missed it, Cullen Large was promoted to AA. He was 0-2 in his first game.

Josh Palacios had a great July with a 900 OPS. He is still on the fringes of prospect status. He probably strikes out a little too much but if he makes it to AAA next season he could be a fourth outfielder type.

Simeon Woods Richardson pitched well with eight K's in five innings.

The Jays signed Neil Ramirez to a minor league deal. He pitched an inning for Dunedin. He could be in the major leagues soon.

Eric Pardinho did not have a great start, seven hits allowed in 4.2 innings. He has just three K's.

Bluefield hitters keep on hitting. They had 13 hits and scored 12 runs. Five hitters had a two hits game and those five are all hitting over .300. Three of them, Justin Ammons, Spencer Horwitz and Ryan Sloniger are all older college guys. Miguel Hiraldo hit his sixth home run, added a double, had five RBI and is hitting .305. Davis Schneider seems to have hit his level, he is hitting well in Bluefield but didn't hit in Vancouver.

Johnny Aiello was a 14th round draft pick last year. He has played in over fifty games in Lansing with mixed results. On this day he was 2-3, scored three runs and had a double and his sixth home run.

Three Stars

Third Star - Johnny Aiello

Second Star - Conor Fisk

First Star - Miguel Hiraldo
