In the DSL, the Jays had the first eight hitters of an inning walk, scoring five runs. That must have been fun to watch. The ninth hitter hit into a double play to spoil the excitement. Josh Winkowski was excellent for Dunedin who kept up their winning ways. Elsewhere Buffalo, New Hampshire, Vancouver, Lansing and Bluefield all lost.

Here are some things I noted from Thursdays games:
Josh Winkowski pitched seven shutout innings with just one hit allowed. Winkowski pitched well in Lansing to earn his promotion but he has been even better in Dunedin. In 16 innings, Winkowski has a WHIP of .38. He is doing something right.
Chavez Young had three hits, we are still waiting for some consistency and sustained output.
Shaun Morimando came off the IL and pitched four good innings. Another backup pitcher in case of emergency.
Bo Bichette had one hit, but it was his fourth home run.
Zach Logue was charged with six runs in 5.2 innings. Logue has not mastered AA yet, his ERA is 4.26 and his WHIP is 1.27.
The Dunedin game featured a Clemens vs. Clemens match-up. The Jays Kacy was 0-5, the Tigers Kody had two hits and gained bragging righths.
Gabe Moreno had two hits including his sixth home run. he is maintaining his average just under .300.
The C's offensive woes continue, they had just four hits. Trveor Schwecke had three of them.
Even though Bluefield lost, Felipe Castaneda had a good start, 5.2 innings, five hits, seven K's.
Miguel Hiraldo and Leonardo Jimenez are the two top prospects in Bluefield. Both were off to slow starts but they both had two hits on Thursday
The GCL Jays are a team of haves and have-nots when it comes to hitting. Four hitters are delivering. Orelvis Martinez and Jhon Solarte have OPS over 1000. Martinez is still just 17, Solarte is a year older. Javier D'Orazio and Erickvi Celedonio are hitting in the high .200's. Most of the other regular hitters are at 200 or below.
The DSL Jays scored seven runs on two hits. When they scored their seventh run, they had just one hit. The first two runs scored with a walk and a home run. The other five scored when the first eight hitters of the inning walked. The Reds escaped with a double play and a ground out.
