Cavan Fever!

A four-run third by the Bisons bettered a three-run first by the PawSox. Cavan Biggio tied things up with a three-run home run before Michael De La Cruz singled home the winning run.  Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had the only two-hit game for the Herd. Biggio was the on-base leader with two walks and also stole a base. De La Cruz also heard ball four once. Andy Burns and Richard Urena both had a hit.

Conor Fisk served up a three-run home run among four hits and a walk but struck out four over 2-2/3 innings. Tayler Saucedo got the win in his Triple-A debut. All the lefthander did was strand the bases loaded and toss 3-1/3 shutout innings of one-hit ball, getting seven groundball outs and one strikeout. Saucedo's heroics bailed out Patrick Cantwell as he was called for catcher's interference in both the third and fourth innings. Javy Guerra gave up a double but got the save thanks in large part to center fielder Roemon Fields as he cut down a runner at third for a double play.

David Paulino put together a quality start of three runs (all unearned) on four hits over six innings. He kept Pawtucket off the board for the first five innings, retiring 9 of the first 11 hitters he faced. Errors by Gurriel at second and Paulino on consecutive plays led to the unearned markers in the sixth. Paulino struck out and walked three in his 88-pitch outing. Derek Law pitched a one-hit seventh to collect the win.

The Bisons did what the Leafs could not do - win twice in a row against a Boston-affiliated club. Too soon? Yes, I'm a bitter Leafs fan.

Zach Logue was hurt by the long ball, two of them in fact, but he was credited with a quality start of six innings and three runs allowed. The lefty surrendered six hits but also struck out six with a walk to go with five groundball outs. Willy Ortiz whiffed two over two perfect frames.

All the Fisher Cats could muster was a Santiago Espinal RBI single in the fifth. Forrest Wall, Nash Knight and Vinny Capra had the other hits with Wall stealing a base. Kevin Smith walked twice. New Hampshire falls to 11-13 on the year.

The D-Jays wasted a five-run lead in losing to the Reds affiliate, coughing up the winning run in the ninth. The Dunedin bats erupted fov six runs in the fifth on a Samad Taylor RBI single, a Cal Stevenson bases-loaded walk, a Cullen Large bases-clearing double and a Christian WIlliams run-scoring single. Stevenson would homer in the seventh to tie the game at 7-7. Taylor had a perfect night at the dish by going 3-for-3 with a walk while Large had the other multi-hit effort with two. Kevin Vicuna, Demi Orimoloye and Norberto Obeso also recorded base hits. Riley Adams walked but Ryan Noda went 0-for-4.

Justin Dillon was charged with three runs (two earned) over 5-1/3 innings on four hits and walk. He struck out seven before handing the ball to Jimenez. Unfortunately, Jimenez blew the save as he allowed two Dillon runners to score and gave up four more (three earned) before finally getting out of the sixth. Brad Wilson pitched two shutout frames before allowing an unearned run in the ninth (on Vicuna's second error of the game) to take the loss. Dany Jimenez got the final two outs but could only strand one of Wilson's two runners.

This game was suspended due to rain. The game will resume later today as part of a doubleheader.
