Come On Baby - Nick Allgeyer!

Jacob Waguespack got back on track in this one as he kept the PawSox to a run on three hits, three walks and a hit by pitch over five innings. That HBP led to the only run on Waguespack's line. He struck out six and induced seven groundball outs. Justin Shafer survived a hit and a walk over two scoreless frames for the save.

Cavan Biggio's sacrifice fly got Buffalo on the board in the third. Anthony Alford walked, stole second and third before coming home on a wild pitch. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had two hits while Bo Bichette added a knock, a walk and two stolen bases. Reese McGuire, Jordan Patterson and Fields each had a hit with Fields swiping his first base of the year. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 0-for-3.

The Bisons bounced back from a 4-0 deficit by scoring in the final two frames. Cavan Biggio brought home a Bo Bichette double in the sixth with a base hit. Patrick Cantwell began the seventh with a double and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Bichette cashed in another run with a sacrifice fly before Richard Urena singled up the gut for the tying and winning runs. Biggio added a walk with his two hits and Cantwell also put up a pair in the hit column. Anthony Alford and Andrew Guillotte also singled. Gunnar Heidt and Romeon Fields walked. Jordan Patterson was 0-for-3.

Shawn Morimado was hit hard in his three-inning stint. A walk, two doubles and a two-run home run led to four runs in the second. He gave up another double in the third and issued a leadoff walk. On the positive side, he struck out six. Zach Jackson held down the fort with two goose eggs by allowing just one hit and striking out. Derek Law faced the minimum over two frames, striking out four to get the win. He finished with a flourish by striking out the side in the seventh.

The Fisher Cats pounced quickly on the Mets when a Josh Palacios leadoff walk was cashed in by a Chad Spanberger bloop single in the first. Kevin Smith connected for a solo home run in the fourth before Palacios and Santiago Espinal doubled home a run apiece in the fifth. Alberto Mineo and Brock Lundquist also had base hits. Nash Knight drew a walk and Kacy Clemens took one for the team.

Hector Perez pushed through five innings of scoreless ball despite four hits and four walks to collect the win. He struck out seven and split his six outs in play evenly on the ground and in the air. Jake Fishman reeled in two more scoreless frames with three strikeouts while stranding two hits and a walk. Andrew Case gave up the only run in the ninth as he got five outs, including a strikeout. Kirby Snead stranded a runner and recorded a game-ending groundout for the save.

A Christian Williams run-scoring knock and a Demi Orimoloye fielder's choice produced the game's only runs in the second. Riley Adams scored the game's first run and went 3-for-4 on the night to lift his average to .300. Ryan Noda singled and walked while Cal Stevenson and Cullen Large also had base hits. Logan Warmoth was 0-for-4 while Norberto Obeso and Samad Taylor were 0-for-3 at the bottom of the order.

I know it's early but Nick Allgeyer is pitching like an All-Star. He slammed the door shut by scattering five hits and a walk over six shutout innings, striking out four and getting five of 11 outs on the ground for the victory. Kyle Weatherly battled control issues by walking a batter and plunking a pair but he held it together for 1-2/3 innings of one-hit ball. Matt Shannon survived a hit and a walk by recording three punchouts over the final 1-1/3 innings for the save.

The Lugnuts snapped a 2-2 with a three-run seventh to get back to .500. Hagen Danner had an RBI triple in the fourth but put the Lugnuts ahead for good with his fourth home run of the season. Jordan Groshans singled home two more runs for insurance. A Reggie Pruitt RBI groundout in the third got Lansing on the board. Danner and Groshans had two hits apiece while Pruitt, Alejandro Kirk, Otto Lopez, Dominic Abbadessa and John Aiello all had one. Jake Brodt walked twice while Kirk, Abbadessa, Aiello and D.J. Neal heard ball four once.

Joey Murray made it through seven innings and pitched a four-hitter, giving up two runs but posting a K-BB total of 8-1 and a GO-FO total of 6-2. Murray retired eight in a row, striking out the side in the second, before giving up a two-out walk and a run-scoring single. Three more singles in the fourth resulted in the second run, the latter that was of the bloop variety that fell in front of Neal in left. After that, Murray mowed down the final 10 hitters he faced. Marcus Reyes worked around two walks and struck out one in a scoreless eighth. Connor Law allowed an infield hit to the mound and overcame his own throwing error to strike out the side for the save.
