The Tigers are on a nine-game losing streak after being swept in five games in Ohio and returning home to lose four straight to Oakland. The team also fired pitching coach Chris Bosio for using a racial slur. Detroit is 36-46 which leaves them 9-1/2 games behind Cleveland in the American League Central.

The Blue Jays dropped two of three in Houston to fall to 37-43 on the year. They are 17 games off the pace in the AL East.
