Jon Harris was promoted to AAA and took on the Paw Sox including Adam Lind, Rusney Castillo and Mike Olt. He pitched well and, backed by a Rowdy Tellez home run, got the win on his debut. Dunedin came from behind to win. Lansing won again with Maximo Castillo getting the measure of the Midwest League. Vancouver also won with Griffin Conine hitting his first professional home run. Bluefield won with a hitter who is hitting over .500. The DSL Jays also won. New Hampshire were rained out, the GCL Jays had the day off.

Buffalo

Jon Harris started and was the star in this game. He threw six innings, just 81 pitches and the only run he allowed was unearned. He had nine ground ball outs and two fly balls. Three relievers pitched hitless ball.

The Bisons scored eight runs on eight hits. Rowdy Tellez hit his sixth home run, a two run shot, and was 2-4. Richard Urena was 2-3 with a walk. Anthony Alford was 1-3 with a walk and two RBI. Roemon Fields also drove in two runs.

Although the Blue Jays farm system is having a good season, one area where it has not been good is the Buffalo hitters. Other than Danny Jansen the hitters have not hit enough to force the major league team to consider them. Anthony Alford is hitting just above .200 with two home runs. Dalton Pompey was injured, again. Richard Urena is hitting .240, he has hit better in the big leagues. Rowdy Tellez is playing better than last year but not at a major league level. Dwight Smith Jr. was hot for a while but now is hitting .259 with three home runs. Reese McGuire has not hit well. Lourdes Gurriel is the one player, other than Jansen, who has hit around what you would expect. If the jays were to trade some hitters at the deadline they will not have an automatic replacement. Most of those players had question marks over them before the season, it is disappointing that none of them have eliminated the questions.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire were rained out.

Dunedin

Dunedin came back from 3-0 down to win 4-3. In the seventh the Jays scored two off of three extra base hits. Rodrigo Orozco and John LaPrise doubled and Ivan Castillo tripled. The Jays then added two in the top of the ninth. LaPrise was hit by a pitch and then Pinto doubled again to drive in the tying run. Kevin Smith reached on an error that allowed the winning run to score. Pinto was 3-4, Kevin Smith had two hits, both doubles, and Rodrigo Orozco and John LaPrise also had two hits.

Yennsy Diaz went six innings and was charged with all three runs. He got off to a rough start with two runs allowed in the first and one in the second but pitched well thereafter. Connor Eller pitched two good innings in relief. Jake Fishman got the save.

Lansing

Lansing stayed hot with a 5-1 win. Maximo Castillo pitched five shutout innings. It was his third strong start in a row. He has now pitched 16 shutout innings over his last three starts with 14 strikeouts. Kyle Weatherly went three shutout innings, one hit allowed.

Norberto Obeso and Brandon Grudzielanek led the offense. The first Lugnut run came when Obeso singled to drive in Grudzielanek. Obeso singled and scored the second run on an error. Grudzielanek doubled and scored the final run on a sac fly. Both Obeso and Grudzielanek finished with two hits. Samad Taylor had one hit, an RBI double. He then scored on another error.

Vancouver

Griffin Conine led the Jays to a 3-2 win. He hit a solo home run in the sixth to tie the game at 2-2. The C's scored a 2018 C's run in the eighth. Vinny Capra walked, stole second, went to third on an error and scored on a sac fly by Conine. A winning run without a hit does represent the 2018 C's. The C's had just five hits and were outhit 7-5. Ho hitter had two hits.

Jose Espada went five innings. He allowed the two runs, one earned. Three relievers finished up.

Bluefield

Bluefield have been hitting really well and have a team batting average of .313. Surprisingly that is only good for third in the Appy League. The Jays have three hitters with averages over .400 and two more over .300. The hitting leader is Dominic Abbadessa. He had two more hits and is hitting .519. DJ Neal had two hits, with two RBI, to keep his average at .400. Davis Schneider just had one hit and he is hitting .440. Hagen Danner had two hits, after a slow start he is starting to hit. John Aiello also had two hits.

Claudio Galva went five innings, but had just one strikeout. Three relievers did not allow a run to keep the 4-2 lead intact.

GCL Jays

The GCL Jays had the day off.

DSL Jays

The DSL Jays won 3-2 despite having only five hits. The winning run was scored in the ninth after the runner reached on a strikeout, so a player who struck out scored the winning run. That's low level baseball for you. Miguel Hiraldo was back in the lineup and was 0-4. Erickvi Celedonio also was back in and went 1-4. Jhon Solarte who we highlighted yesterday was 2-4. The Jays used four pitchers, Junior Guzman started and pitched five innings with two runs allowed.
