The Braves have a 3-1/2 game lead over Philadelphia and Washington in the NL East with a 42-29 record. They won five of six on their homestand after sweeping the New York Mets and taking two of three from the San Diego Padres.

The Blue Jays are 33-38 in the AL East which puts them 15 games behind the New York Yankees and Boston. They will try to beat a non-Maryland-based for the first time since beating the Detroit Tigers in Michigan June 3.
