Jason Leblebijian is heating up again after a torrid April. He had a four-hit game, including two home runs and a double, and is 8-for-14 over his last three games. Ian Parmley is also swinging it quite well as his batting average has shot up 48 points to .296 in an 11-day span. In addition to his two-hit game, he stole his eighth base in nine tries Christian Lopes homered, singled and walked while Dwight Smith Jr. also had two hits, including a double. Rowdy Tellez had a hat trick in a 0-for-4 performance. Roemon Fields was 1-for-5 but was caught stealing.
Chris Smith blew the save and took the loss, giving up runs for the first time this season on a walk-off, three-run dinger after 7-2/3 scoreless innings. Murphy Smith had the only clean Bisons line with 1-2/3 innings of shutout ball that included one strikeout.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats
Jon Harris was rocked for a leadoff home run and followed that up by plunking the next hitter and issuing back-to-back walks. He limited the damage to a sacrifice fly and put up five zeroes after that on the linescore for his second straight quality start. Harris scattered five hits, three walks and a hit by pitch while striking out a season-high seven and getting seven outs on the grass. John Stilson took the loss in his first appearance of the season for New Hampshire after being demoted from Buffalo as he gave up three runs in two innings but did strike out two.
Andrew Guillotte had two hits and is batting .524 so far in his nascent Double-A career but he was caught stealing. Jonathan Davis had a hit and two walks to extend his on-base streak to 11 games. Matt Dean had a hit in his second Double-A game and is hitting .333 so far. Richard Urena had a hit while Ryan McBroom and Danny Jansen drew walks.
Lansing Lugnuts
Bo Bichette continues to bore with his consistency with two hits and two RBI and is now the author of an eight-game hitting streak. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a triple in five at-bats. Nick Sinay reached base three times with a single and two HBPs while also stealing a base.
Despite a game WHIP of two, Justin Maese still cobbled together a quality start of three runs over six innings. He gave up seven hits, four walks and a plunk. He had five K's and eight groundouts in his 91-pitch outing. Nick Hartman and Zach Jackson pitched a scoreless frame apiece before Andrew Deramo coughed up a pair of runs in the ninth to take the loss. Jackson has reeled off nine scoreless appearances in a row and has not given up a run since April 23. With an ERA down to 2.37, it should not be long now before the former Arkansas Razorback gets promoted.
