Casey Lawrence is gone, which is probably the most important news farm related coming out of your Thursday, May 11, 2017. Justin Maese threw a complete game down the road in Lansing, while two other starting pitching prospects also turned in respectable pitching performances.

Buffalo Bisons

Rowdy Tellez is starting to heat up. He had two doubles on the night and has raised his batting average 30+ points since the beginning of May. Don’t look now, but Dwight Smith Jr. continues to hit at a .300 clip. He had a single and walk on the night. He’s got a bit of Denard Span to his game and I think the Jays would be happy if he turned out to be anything close to Mr. Span. Raffy Lopez continues to rake. He had three hits and I suspect will see time with the big club rather shortly given our predicament behind the plate.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

Altoona scored two in the bottom half of the ninth to pip the visiting Fisher Cats. Tim Mayza hit a batter to push the winning run across. Conner Greene had a solid start. He tossed six innings of one run baseball, though will be concerned about a 4:3 walk to strikeout ratio. Greene, in fact, had a no-no going into the fifth. Anthony Alford had two hits, as did Richard Urena.

Dunedin Blue Jays

T.J. Zeuch had his longest start of his young professional career. He went seven innings allowing three earned on nine hits and four strikeouts. Zeuch’s efforts were all for not as the rival Tortugas scored two runs in each of the seventh and eighth innings to top the High A affiliate.

Lansing Lugnuts

Lansing was your only win on the farm last night. Justin Maese pitched a rare complete game. He threw a total of 103 pitches and secured his 27 outs in the following manner: ten groundouts, seven flyouts, and seven strikeouts. Maese walked one batter and allowed one earned run on five hits.

3. T.J. Zeuch
