Vancouver scored ten runs in the first inning without a triple or a home run. Fourteen hitters came to the plate. The C's finished with 20 hits and a big win. Buffalo were the other winners, Dalton Pompey with the 12th inning walk-off single. A Matt Hague three run home run got the Bisons to extras and Matt Boyd had a nice start. New Hampshire, Dunedin and Lansing were all easily defeated while Bluefield were rained out.

Columbus 3 Buffalo 4 - 12 innings

In the bottom of the 12th the Bisons took three walks to load the bases. Dalton Pompey then hit a line drive up the middle for the winning run. Pompey was 1-5 with 2 walks. The Bisons had trailed 3-0 into the eighth when Matt Hague hit a three run home run.

Matt Boyd pitched seven innings. Five of those innings were 1-2-3. All of the five hits he allowed came in the other two innings and led to three runs. Four pitchers held Columbus at bay for five innings. Chad Jenkins got the win.

Portland 2 New Hampshire 0

New Hampshire were held to just three hits, all singles, and were unable to get anything going. John Anderson was the hard luck loser, he pitched into the seventh inning and gave up one earned run, and another unearned.

Daytona 5 Dunedin 3

Three more unearned runs off starter Murphy Smith. Smith pitched 4.2 innings, again one run was earned, four allowed in total. Luis Santos followed with 4.1 innings with one run allowed.

The Jays took a brief lead in the second when Andy Fermin tripled in Matt Dean and Mitch Nay, who had both walked. Rowdy Tellez went deep in the ninth for the third run. Tellez was the only hitter with two hits.

Lansing 2 Great Lakes 7

Another rough loss for the Lugnuts. It should be expected as most of their top players are now in Dunedin. Justin Shafer continues his up and down season, he was gone in the third innings with three runs in. Dusty Isaacs gave up three more.

Christian Vazquez reached base all for times, two hits and two walks, with one of the hits a solo home run. The rest of the offense combined for four hits.

Eugene 5 Vancouver 16

A ten run first inning for the C's. A wild innings started with five hits, then a hit batter, then another hit. Andrew Guillotte, Gunnar Heidt and Justin Atkinson each had two hits in the inning. The hits just kept coming, 20 in all. Atkinson was 4-4. Guillotte, Heidt and JC Cardenas had three hits. Lane Thomas had just one hit but 4 RBI's.

The beneficiary was Clinton Hollon who pitched four innings and gave up two runs. It can be difficult to pitch with such a big lead. Josh De Graaf pitched three innings with two unearned run conceded.
