Dunedin, FL - The Jays won their 11th game in 20 tries by scoring the game's final three runs. Mississauga's Owen Spiwak and Nash Knight began the fifth inning with consecutive singles and they were moved up 90 feet on a sacrifice bunt by Jesus Severino. Spiwak would score the tying run on a Miguel Almonte base hit. Knight would cross home with the winning run after a Cliff Brantley fielder's choice. Spiwak had a hand in the insurance run in the sixth when his single and an error in right field scored a Ryan Hissey double. Kalik May had a perfect day at the dish with a 3-for-3 effort with a walk and he stole his 9th base of the year. Lance Jones had a pinch-hit walk and Edward Olivares was hit by a pitch. Javier Hernandez was 0-for-1 after replacing Spiwak behind the plate.
Jose Espada tossed three no-hit innings but gave up a run when one of his two walks advanced on a pair of ground balls before scoring on a wild pitch. The fifth-round pick out of Puerto Rico struck out four and just one of his six outs in play escaped gravity. Juan Meza (1-0, 10.80) managed to get away with four walks and a hit in two innings by striking out three. Gunner Eastman shot his way through two frames with two hits, one walk and one strikeout on his line while inducing three ground ball outs. Mike Estevez had baserunners to deal with in the form of two hits and a plunk but he rung up three batters for the two-inning save.

Boca Chica, DR - The Jays broke a 2-2 tie by scoring in each of the last four innings. Kevin Vicuna put the Jays ahead to stay with a two-run single in the sixth. Enmanuel Moreta's sac fly in the first inning produced the game's first run and a Moreta double was cashed in by Antony Fuentes base hit in the fourth. Fuentes had a run-scoring fly ball in the seventh and Christian Peguero knocked home another run in the eighth. The Orioles battery gift-wrapped the other three runs in the ninth with two wild pitches and a passed ball. Manuel Herazo got on base four times with two hits and two walks and added a stolen base for good measure. Fuentes reached base with a hit, a walk and a hit by pitch. Vicuna and Peguero had two hits apiece while Norberto Obeso and Sterling Guzman had a knock and a walk. Francisco Rodriguez added two to his BB total. Jesus Navarro and Victor Figuereo also earned a free pass while Yorman Rodriguez met Mr. Rawlings. Figuereo also swiped a bag and tossed out a runner at third from center field.
Guadalupe Chavez (3-1, 3.86) chucked the rawhide for five innings, giving up two runs on six hits, a walk and a pair of plunks. The Mexican righty struck out four and kept seven of his nine outs in play on the grass. Joel Espinal went the rest of the way, allowing the other two runs (one earned after a Vicuna error at short) on five hits, two walks and a HBP. He struck out three for the four-inning save.
