All the affiliates split their weekend series. Matt Boyd, Chase De Jong pitched really well. Chris Dickerson slammed his way to a first inning lead for Buffalo. Daniel Norris pitched reasonably well.

Buffalo split with Toledo

On Saturday the Bisons won 16-2 with 18 hits. Chris Dickerson hit a grand slam in the first inning, the ball landed in a bowl of potato salad. Matt Hague had three hits including a home run and four RBI. Melky Mesa also homered. Every starter had a hit. Andrew Albers hadn't had much run support until yesterday. He went seven innings for the win. The game was called after 7 and a half due to fog.

On Sunday Buffalo lost in 12 innings. Chad Jenkins took the loss and he was hit hard in his second inning of work. The starter was Daniel Norris who had a "Norrisy" line. He had 9 K's in six innings, walked 3 and gave up five hits and two runs. Ryan Schimpf was the only hitter with two hits. Over the two games Dalton Pompey was 1-9, two walks, no K's. Luke Scott went 4-9 over his first two games in the organization.

New Hampshire split with Binghamton

On Sunday Matt Boyd pitched seven shutout innings as the Cats won 5-0. Boyd allowed 7 hits and had 4 K's. All five runs came in the eighth inning, five walks helped the cause, four hits sealed the deal. Dwight Smith did not play this weekend, he likely has some nagging injury.

Saturday's name was tied at one in the sixth inning when the rains came. John Anderson started and went five but left after the rain delay. Cory Burns came on in relief and immediately gave up four runs, game over. The Fisher Cats had just five hits.

Dunedin split with Lakeland

The Jays won 3-1 on Saturday. New Jay Murphy Smith just gave up an unearned run in six innings. Jimmy Cordero pitched two perfect innings, WIl Browning got the save. JD Davis was 3-4 in his second game for the D Jays.

On Sunday Jairo Labourt went five innings, he only gave up three hits but only had two K's. Brady Dragmire took the loss by giving up four runs without getting an out. Roemen Fields had two hits, the only Jay to do so. JD Davis didn't play.

Lansing split with West Michigan, both with 4-3 scores.

On Saturday Chase De Jong had his best start in a while, he pitched a three hitter over six innings. Colton Turner gave up all three runs. Eight Lansing hitters had one hit each, Richard Urena and Dan Jansen homered.

On Sunday Jesus Tinoco was great most of the night. He went six innings and in five of those he dominated. But in the fifth inning he gave up four runs on five hits. I don't know what exactly happened to him but he came back out for the sixth and finished well. It was a growth start for Tinoco. Josh Almonte came off the DL this weekend and went 3-4 on Sunday. Almonte was off to a slow start before he was injured, it will be interesting to watch if he hits like last year. Richard Urena had two hits.
