It was a hitters night on the farm. Each team had double digit hits and no starter went more than five innings. Several hitters had three hits, Dwight Smith, Matt Hague, Derrick Loveless and Jake Fox.
Buffalo 7 Lehigh Valley 6
Twelve hits for the Bisons, seven of them from the top three spots in the order. Matt Hague was 3-4 with 2 RBI, Ezequiel Carrera was 2-4 with a home run and 3 RBI. Andy Burns was 2-4.
Austin Bibens-Dirkx only lasted four innings, he allowed four runs on nine hits. Steve Delabar and Bo Schultz each allowed a run.
Binghamton 5 New Hampshire 10
Fourteen hits for the Fisher Cats. Dwight Smith was a triple short of the cycle, going 3-5 and is now hitting .333. Jake Fox also had three hits and he too was a triple short of a cycle. Ryan SChimpf, Kevin Nolan and Jorge Flores had two hits each.
John Anderson started and went five innings allowing two runs. Greg Burke gave up three before Cory Burns and Danny Barnes finished up.
Brevard County 3 Dunedin 6
Twelve hits for the Jays. Derrick Loveless was 3-4 with a home run. Jorge Saez also jacked one. Roemen Fields and Mitch Nay each had two hits.
Murphy Smith went four innings. The winner was Tiago Da Silva who pitched two shutout innings. Wil Browning got his fifth save.
Lansing 5 Bowling Green 6
Ten hits for the Lugnuts. Anthony Alford was 2-5 with a double. Rowdy Tellez and Tim Locastro also had two hits each.
Sean Ried-Foley was wild, he did not emerge from the second inning, he gave up three hits and four walks. Justin Shafer settled things down, he went 4.2 and only gave upmone run. He left with a 5-2 lead, and home town hero Mark Biggs came on to pitch. Biggs outing turned into a nightmare, flipping a 3 run lead into a one run loss.
