The hitters were taking Labour Day seriously, taking a break from work. Dunedin had 2 and 3 hits in two games, Buffalo, New Hampshire and Lansing each had four hits. That's a total of 17 hits in five games. Even with so few hits Buffalo were able to win, the others all lost. Brandon Morrow pitched for Buffalo.
Vancouver had a big come from behind win to lower their magic number to one.
Buffalo 3 Rochester 0

Brad Mills pitched seven innings, three walks and three hits. Will Mills get a call-up? That probably depends on several factors. Will Stroman and Hutchison finish out their year in the t=rotation or will the Jays back them off? Is Sean Nolin getting called up, and maybe Daniel Norris. Their fate ranks ahead of Mills. What relievers are coming, Santos, Delabar, Drabek, Rasmussen and of course Morrow.

Brandon Morrow pitched one inning, just allowing an infield single. Morrow was throwing nearly all fastballs with good velocity.
-
With only 4 hits the Bisons did well to win. The Bisons scored in the first inning, something that has been common since Pompey joined. Pompey singled leading off the game, stole second, moved up with a passed ball and scored on a sac fly.
New Hampshire 1 New Britain 3
-
Only four hits for NH. Of the hitters remaining Jorge Flores and Jon Berti lead in BA, Flores at .294, Berti at .270. Berti is headed to the AFL.
-
With 2 games left Andy Burns leads in OPS with hitters who have over 200 AB's. Burns OPS is .746, disappointing for Burns.
-
New Hampshire used a lot of free agent starters this season, guys like Liz, Copeland, Walters, Lee, Bibens-Dirkx, Hill and Bleier. Aaron Sanchez and Daniel Norris were there for a while but in general it was not a great year for New Hampshire starters.
Dunedin 0 Brevard County 2 - game 1
Dunedin 0 Brevard County 1 - game 2

Who will be in the playoff rotation? It seems as though Taylor Cole will start game one, he started the first game of the DH but was pulled after two innings. Miguel Castro followed him and was pulled after three innings. Castro could be the game two starter, but what of Roberto Osuna and Matt Boyd?
-
Mitch Nay had a rough introduction to high A with a BA of .152. Hopefully Nay will understand what faces him next year and be ready when 2015 rolls around.
-
Dwight Smith is second in the FSL in OPS and he is headed for the AFL. That will be a good experience for Smith although he is on the taxi squad to start.
South Bend 5 Lansing 1

Rowdy Tellez took a zero for four. However his BA is still over .300 at .306. His K rate is reasonable, he has 10 K's in 36 AB's. He has also walked five times.
-
DJ Davis also was hitless. I keep looking at Davis' numbers for signs of improvement but I don't see it. Davis is hitting .234 in August, in line with several other months. His K rate is still over 30%. Unfortunately Davis' numbers remind me of Kevin Ahrens and Justin Jackson and that's not a compliment.
-
Canadian Justin Atkinson also was hitless and put a big dent in his attempt to hit .300, his BA is down to .294. He needs about six hits over the last 2 days to get there.
Spokane 4 Vancouver 5

#2JBrumfield has provided a full recap of this game with pictures. The C's magic number is down to one.
