On Sunday Jays affiliates went 3-2, with wins coming from Bluefield, Lansing, and Buffalo. Brett Wallace had a monster game for the Herd, with 3 HR, and with the a walk-off grand slam in the 12th for the Bisons. With the win the Bisons now are tied for a wild-card spot with Pawtucket.
Pawtucket 6 – Buffalo 10 (12 Innings)
Sean Nolin had a quality start for the Bisons putting together a line of 6IP 4H 2R 2ER 2BB 3SO. Chad Jenkins had a rough outing allowing 4 earned over 2 innings and gave up the lead in the process. Bobby Korecky, Mike Zagurski and Ryan Tepera combined to pitch 4 scoreless innings.
Anthony Gose had a decent game with 3 hits, including his 3rd HR of the season. George Kottaras hit his 3rd HR of the season with the Bisons as well. Brett Wallace had 4 hits, which included 3 HRs; the final HR was a walk-off grand slam in the 12th inning.
Portland 5 – New Hampshire 0
Michael Lee put together a quality start for the Fisher Cats pitching 7 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Dustin Antolin had an outing to forget, as he allowed 4 runs in the 8th, and Blake McFarland allowed one run in the 9th.
New Hampshire had 7 hits, but was unable to score any runs. The Fisher Cats had doubles from Melky Mesa and Brad Glenn in a losing cause.
Dunedin 1 – Tampa 5
Taylor Cole was handed the ball to start, and had a respectable outing. Taylor pitched 6 strong innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, with a 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.
The only Dunedin run was scored in the 5th when Kevin Patterson came home on an Emilio Guerrero sac fly.
Lake County 4 – Lansing 5
Brady Allen lasted 6 strong innings allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Scott Silverstein followed up with allowing 1 run over 2 innings and Brady Dragmire closed out the 9th for his 5th save.
Dawel Lugo had 3 hits, while Rowdy Tellez and Derick Loveless each had 2 hits in a winning cause.
Bluefield 6 – Greenville 3
Grayson Huffman and Carlos Ramirez were victimized by errors allowing them to allowing 1 and 2 unearned runs respectively.
The offense didn’t manage to score a run till the 9th, when Bluefield managed to score 6 runs. A bunch of Bluefield singles to go along with a wild pitch, a hit by pitch and finally a fielding error from Greenville helped with the 9th inning outburst.
