The affiliates had another disappointing day, winning just one of five games - none of them south of the border. Lansing - save for four Lugnuts - had the night off because of the Midwest League All-Star Game.

Columbus 6 Buffalo 2

Columbus, OH
- Sean Nolin (2-4) was perfect for 2.1 innings, including three strikeouts, but he would not retire another batter. He plunked a hitter, gave up a hit and walked a pair which eventually resulted in three runs after fellow lefty Mike Zagurski could only strand one of three runners on the bases. Zagurski had trouble finding the strike zone by walking four batters but he struck out a pair over 1.2 innings. John Stilson worked a pair of scoreless frames, surrendering just one hit. Ryan Tepera worked a scoreless seventh but gave up a three-spot in the eighth as the Indians affiliate got to him for five hits. Tepera did whiff a pair.

The Herd's two runs came in the fourth and fifth innings to make it a one-run game. Brad Glenn drove home the first run with a double and Adron Chambers singled home the other. Jared Goeddert had a three-hit evening and Jonathan Diaz had two. Kevin Pillar was 0-for-3 with a walk while Colby Rasmus and Ryan Goins both wore the collar in their four at-bats.

Altoona 4 New Hampshire 2

Manchester, NH - The Pirates affiliate belted two homers against P.J. Walters but that's all they got against the former Jay, who limited the damage to solo shots. He lasted eight innings and yielded just six hits while striking out six and walking nobody. Walters also recorded 10 outs on the ground. Randy Boone (0-3) came on in the ninth and coughed up the winning and insurance runs on three hits, a walk and a hit by pitch.

K.C. Hobson
made his Double-A debut a memorable one by leading off the seventh with a home run. The Fisher Cats tied things up in the eighth when Mike McDade doubled home a Kenny Wilson infield hit. Wilson had a couple of hits while Andy Burns doubled, walked and was plunked. Jon Berti, Ryan Schimpf and Kevin Nolan also made a dent in the hit column. Derrick Chung had a walk in his Fisher Cats debut.

Brevard County 10 Dunedin 5

Viera, FL - Ben White (3-4) hit the showers early as he lasted one inning and was whacked for six runs on five hits and two walks. Chad Girodo lasted three times as long as White and struck out four batters but he was burned for a pair of runs on five hits. The Brewers affiliate continued to pour it on against Efrain Nieves to the tune of two runs on three hits and two walks. Nieves did strike out one batter in his inning of work. Tony Davis struck out the side in the seventh. Wil Browning and Danny Barnes turned in one-hit frames with Browning striking out two and Barnes whiffing one.

Dunedin tried to chip away at a 6-0 deficit with runs in the third and fourth innings on an L.B. Dantzler RBI single and a Gustavo Pierre home run. They added three more runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Santiago Nessy and a two-run double by Emilio Guerrero. Nessy and Guerrero had the only multi-hit efforts. Dantzler and Dalton Pompey both had singles and walks. Christian Lopes had a double. Marcus Knecht was 0-for-4.

Salem-Keizer 4 Vancouver 3

Salem, OR - The C's bullpen coughed it up again for a second straight night and got no help from the left side of the infield. Starlyn Suriel did his job by posting five shutout innings, holding down the Giants affiliate to three hits and two walks while striking out three. Joe Lovecchio (1-1) was charged for four runs over 2.2 innings but only one was earned thanks to errors by Franklin Barreto and David Harris at short and third respectively. The one by Harris especially proved costly as it was preceded by a two-run homer. Lovecchio was slapped around for five hits and a walk but he struck out a pair. Francisco Gracesqui struck out the only hitter he faced.

All three Vancouver runs were scored in the first. Harris singled home the first run, the second run scored on a balk and Sean Hurley had an RBI base hit. Harris had two hits and Barreto singled and walked. Tim Locastro also had a base hit and a base on balls. Jonathan Davis reached twice with a pair of walks. Roemon Fields and Boomer Collins doubled.

DSL Blue Jays 3 DSL Tigers 1

San Pedro de Macoris, DR
- The Jays broke through for three runs in the fifth inning as Bryan Lizardo took one for the team with the bases loaded. A wild pitch scored the second run and Antony Fuentes singled home the third run. Fuentes had a three-hit day and Rodrigo Orozco chipped in with two. Miguel Almonte and Manuel Herazo both singled and were hit by a pitch. Lizardo also had a walk to go along with his HBP. Jesus Severino singled and Francisco Rodriguez walked.

Jose Nova
put in four shutout innings, giving up just two hits, a walk and a hit by pitch to go along with three strikeouts. The lefty also induced four groundball outs. Yonardo Herdenez (2-0) also kept posting goose eggs on the scoreboard before allowing one run in the ninth. He scattered five hits over five frames with one strikeout and no walks.

Midwest League All-Star Game @ West Michigan
- Mid West All Stars 7 Mid East All Stars 0

Comstock Park, MI - Mitch Nay was 0-for-3 while Matt Dean and Derrick Loveless were both 0-for-2 for the East squad. Griffin Murphy pitched two-thirds of a scoreless inning with one walk and one strikeout.
