Having been swept on Thursday the affiliates went 5-0 on Friday thanks to great pitching. Kendall Graveman almost had a no-hitter, Daniel Norris and Kramer Champlin had a combined one hitter and Aaron Sanchez pitched well.
Buffalo 7 Pawtucket 3
Buffalo trailed for much of this game until they scored five runs in the eighth. In that inning the Bisons pieced together six singles and a walk for their runs. Chris Getz, Dan Johnson and Kevin Nolan had two hits each, Kevin Pillar and Ricardo Nanita had two RBI's each.
Laim Hendricks started, pitched 6.1 innings but did not get the win. He allowed seven hits, didn't issue a walk and struck out 8 while giving up the three runs. Bobby Korecky got the win by cleaning up the last 8 outs.New Hampshire 6 Binghamton 3
The Fisher Cats, behind Aaron Sanchez, had a 3-0 lead in the seventh but the bullpen blew the lead. But the offense came through with three runs in the ninth for the win. Sanchez was back to good Sanchez. In six innings he gave up four hits and two of them were infield hits back to Sanchez. He walked two and had six K's. The only slight concern was Sanchez threw 44 strikes and 32 balls. Wil Browning was charged with all three Mets runs.
The Fisher Cats scored their first three runs via the long ball, Gabe Jacobo, Ryan Schimpf and Brad Glenn all homered. Glenn also doubled in two runs in the ninth. The bottom of the order carried the Cats, Jon Jones had three hits from the nine spot and Andy Fermin two from the eighth.
Dunedin 4 Brevard County 0 - game 1
This game started on Thursday but was rained out in the first so they had to play nine innings. The Jays almost no-hit Brevard, an infield hit was initially scored an error but later changed to a hit. Daniel Norris started and went four innings, with the one infield hit, two walks and six K's. Kramer Champlin followed with five shutout innings, he walked two and struck out two.
Matt Newman doubled in the first two runs and Gustavo Pierre hit a two run home run in the seventh.
Dunedin 1 Brevard County 0 - game 2
This game was scoreless until the seventh and last inning. Dunedin started Jesse Hernandez and he pitched four shutout innings. Blake McFarland and Arik Sikula pitched the last three.
Dunedin had just five hits. The winning run started with a bunt single by Marcus Knecht, who went to second on an error. Emilio Guerrero singled in the go-ahead run.
Lansing 5 Beloit 0
Kendall Graveman had a no-hitter until there was one out in the ninth. At that stage a ball was hit to Dawel Lugo at short that took a big hop. It could have been an error but was scored as a hit. After the hit Griffin Murphy came on to allow a second hit but then ended the game with a double play. Graveman's line was 8.1 1 0 0 1 7.
The Lugnuts scored three in the fith. Derrick Loveless doubled and scored on a ground out. Later Dickie Thon and Matt Dean singled in runs. Thon and DEan also drove in the fourth and fifth runs in the seventh. Dean was 3-5 to push his average to 327. Thon and Justin Atkinson had two hits.
