Mick Doherty passed away on October 8, 2013, due to complications with diabetes. A Roster member for as long as I can remember, Mick Doherty was known for his writing talent and his sense of humour, which was often on display in his trademark “Hall of Names” threads.
Born on July 20, 1966, Michael E. Doherty Jr. wrote his first Hall of Names thread was way back on March 15, 2003, when he wrote about the "All-Food Team".
Some of Mick’s many memorable Hall of Names thread include the very popular "All-Palindrome Team"; "The Tony Awards," which wrapped up his series on the 25 most popular first names for males in the United States; "the 1931 birth year team" and, perhaps one of Mick’s favourites, his own "July 20 Birthday Team".
Mick’s last thread looked at "When Is a Retired Number Not Really Retired?”.
I’d welcome all Batter’s Box posters to share their memories of Mick.
