After disappointing first halves of the season, Daniel Norris and Deck McGuire continued to pitch excellent late in the season. The farm teams were 2-4 today, with wins coming from New Hampshire and Vancouver.
Buffalo 0 – Lehigh Valley 7
Kyle Drabek gave up three runs pitching 3.1 innings. Bobby Korecky followed Kyle and gave up 3 runs as well over 3 innings.
Mauro Gomez, and Andy LaRoche each had a double, but the Bisons weren’t able to score any runs today.
New Hampshire 7 – Reading 3
Deck McGuire continues to pitch well late in the season for New Hampshire, as today he had a perfect game through going into the 7th inning. Deck eventually settled for 7 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 2 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.
Kenny Wilson had 3 hits, including a double, and his 3rd home run of the season. Jack Murphy had 3 hits including a double, and a triple. Kevin Nolan, Adam Loewen and John Tolisano each had two hits.
Dunedin 6 – Brevard County 5
Mike Crouse had 3 hits including his 7th HR of the season. Jorge Flores had 2 doubles, and scored two runs.
John Anderson gave up 5 runs over 2.1 innings, and was followed by 3 relievers that pitched 6.2 scoreless innings.
Dayton 5 – Lansing 4(11 Innings)
Daniel Norris had another fantastic start in which he threw 4 innings giving up 1 earned run on 1 hit, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Javier Avendano was charged with 3 unearned runs while pitching 3 innings.
Dwight Smith Jr was 3-6 with a double, in a game where Lansing had 11 hits which amounted to 4 runs.
Spokane 2 – Vancouver 6
Kyle Anderson had a fantastic as he pitched 7 scoreless innings. Drew Permission Followed with a scoreless 8th inning while Matt Johnson gave up 2 unearned runs in the 9th.
Michael Reeves continued to get on base as he had 2 hits including a double and a walk. Ian Parmley had two hits, and swiped his 21st bag of the year.
Bluefield 3 – Greenvile 4 (10 Innings)
Bluefield scored two runs in the third when Derrick Loveless tripled home Adres Sotillo. Derrick Scored later when Mitch Nay singled him home. Matt Dean had a lead-off double in the 9th inning, later scoring on a single from John Silviano.
Jairo Labourt pitched 4.2 innings giving up 2 earned runs. Phil Kish was credited with the loss as he gave up the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
