Gustavo Pierre hit for the cycle in Dunedin's 7-6 win. He doubled, tripled, singled and homered in that order. His home run came with Dunedin down by a run in the seventh inning and tied the score. Franklin Barreto hit two home runs for the GCL Jays. Both home runs were to the opposite field. Barreto is 17 years old. Barreto is impressive.

Justin Germano was outstanding in leading the Bisons. Kevin Pillar had three hits to come out of his slump. New Hampshire lost in extra innings. Lansing lost a walk off game despite a very good start from Matt Boyd. Vancouver lost in nine. Bluefield were rained out.

Buffalo 6 Scranton 1

Justin Germano pitched very well, he went 8 innings of five hit, one run, ball. He did not walk anyone.

Moises Sierra hit a 2 run home run in the third inning as part of a 3 run inning. The Bisons added a fourth run in the fifth with doubles by Anthony Gose and Ricardo Nanita. In the seventh Kevin Pillar singled home Mike McCoy to make it a 5-1 game. Pillar doubled in another run in the ninth. Kevin Pillar broke out of his slump with a 3-5 game. Anthony Gose had two hits.

Richmond 7 New Hampshire 2 - 13 innings

There wasn't much offense in this game that was tied at one after 9 innings. Dustin Antolin had a(nother) bad game, he walked the lead off hitter in the twelfth and subsequently Richmond went ahead. The Fisher Cats tied the game in the bottom of the twelfth but then Antolin walked the lead off hitter, again, in the thirteenth. He went on to load the bases on walks and give up five runs before being ejected.

Antolin masked a couple of bright spots for the Cats. Marcus Walden started and was charged with one run in 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, he walked 2 and had 3 K's. In the twelfth, when the Cats were down by a run Adam Loewen had a big two out single to tie the game. Also Randy Boone pitched three shutout innings in relief. The Fisher Cats had 9 hits, in 13 innings. Andy Burns was 1-4 with 2 walks. Gabe Jacobo had 2 hits.

Brevard County 6 Dunedin 7

Dunedin scored two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to turn a 6-3 deficit into a 7-6 lead. But the story of the game was Gustavo Pierre. In the first inning Pierre doubled in two runs. In the third he tripled in the Jays third run. Pierre singled in the fifth. Leading off the seventh inning Pierre homered for the cycle. It was also Pierre's 4th RBI. The home run tied the game at 6. Later in that inning Jon Berti singled in Nick Baligod for the lead.

The Jays used 5 pitchers, the starter, Scott Copeland lasted just four innings.

Lansing 1 Great Lakes 2

The Loons won in the bottom of the ninth with a bases loaded, two out, bunt single. Eric Brown was the losing pitcher in his fourth inning of work, it was his second run allowed on 6 hits. Matt Boyd started and pitched five shutout innings. Boyd just allowed one hit, one walk with 4 K's.

The Lugnuts had just six hits, no hitter had two. Jordan Leyland drove in the only run.

Vancouver 2 Boise 9

Doubleheader Sunday

GCL Phillies 4 GCL Blue Jays 10

Conner Greene started and the Phillies put up a 4 spot in the third inning. Jacob Brentz loaded the bases in the fourth, got to two outs and then Daniel Lietz got the third out. That was a lift and then the Jays started to get back in it. In the fourth Edwin Fuentes singled and scored on a sac fly, 4-1. In the fifth Koby Kraemer doubled in a run, Tom Collins singled in two, one scored on a wild pitch and Rowdy Tellez tripled in a fifth run. The Jays led 6-4. In the sixth Josh Almonte doubled in a run and Franklin Barreto hit a two run home run. Barreto hit another home run in the eighth, this one off a curve ball. Both of Barreto's home runs were to right field, with Barreto as a right handed hitter. That is impressive power. Barreto is 17 years old and is hitting .301 with a 910 OPS. Barreto is sixth in the GCL in OPS.

In addition to Barreto's 2 hits, Josh Almonte also had two. Every starter had a hit.
