Charlotte, NC — The Bisons got just three hits against the White Sox affiliate, two of them doubles by Eugenio Velez and Mike McCoy. Kevin Pillar had the other base hit and also picked up a walk. Anthony Gose was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
Thad Weber pitched seven decent innings of two-run ball that involved six base hits. His K-BB total was 4-3. John Stilson gave up a run on two hits in the eighth.
Great Lakes 5 Lansing 4 (10 Innings)
Lansing, MI — The Lugnuts scored three times in the eighth to force this one in overtime against the Dodgers affiliate. Emilio Guerrero hit a two-run bomb. Santiago Nessy had a three-hit night and Dwight Smith Jr. reached base four times with two hits and two walks and threw in a stolen base.
Starter Taylor Cole only lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a K-BB total of 4-3. Lefty Griffin Murphy yielded an unearned run in 2 2/3 innings. Tucker Donahue pitched two scoreless frames. Justin Jackson took the loss.
Everett 7 Vancouver 3
Vancouver, BC — The C's held a 3-1 lead against league-leading Everett, led by literal Canadians Mike Reeves of Peterborough, Ontario and Justin Atkinson of Surrey, B.C. They each had a hit and scored a run in the three-run second inning. Reeves also managed to work in a walk. Dickie Thon Jr. had two hits while Jordan Leyland had a double.
Lefty Kyle Anderson got through five innings against the Mariners affiliate in which he surrendered three runs on six hits with a K-BB ratio of 4-1. Lefty Matt Dermody took the loss in his C's debut as the AquaSox dropped a suicide squeeze to plate the winning run in his two innings of work. Johnathan Kountis was pounded for three more runs in his two frames.
Bluefield 3 Danville 0
Danville, WV — Lefthander Zak Wasilewski limited the Braves to three hits and a walk over five innings and struck out three. Alberto Tirado scattered two hits and two walks over three innings and rang up 5 K's. Alvido Jimenez struck out two for the save.
Mitch Nay had a two-hit game. Dawel Lugo doubled and walked. D.J. Davis tripled but struck out twice. Matt Dean singled.
DSL Tigers 6 DSL Blue Jays 2
San Pedro de Macoris, DR — We'll give the Tiggers this one. Miguel Castro took the loss after yielding four runs (three earned) in four innings but put up a nice K-BB line of 5-0. Lefty Angel Perdomo gave up the other two runs. Greylor Conde pitched two shutout frames and lefty Johathan Torres had one.
Michael De La Cruz had three hits, including a double. Luis Dominguez reached three times with two hits and a walk while Juan Kelly did the reverse with a hit and two BB's. Richard Urena added a single.
New Hampshire, Dunedin and the GCL Blue Jays were all rained out.
