Tongiht the farm went 1-3, highlighted by strong performances from Ryan Goins, KC Hobson, and Daniel Norris.  While 2012 first round pick Marcus Stroman, had a start to forget.

Buffalo 2 – Durham 10

Tonight was a night to forget for Bisons pitching as they gave up 16 hits, and 10 earned runs.  Claudio Vargas and Bobby Korecky were responsible for most of the damage tonight.  Mickey Storey had 2 2/3 innings giving up 1 hit, with 4 strikeouts for Buffalo tonight.

Buffalo was without one of their top hitters tonight in Jim Negrych who possibly is on his way to Atlanta to help the Blue Jays.  Ryan Goins had an inside the park homerun versus Durham starter Juan Sandoval, in what was a quiet night for Bisons hitters.

New Hampshire 1 – Portland 9

Tonight Marcus Stroman had the first stinker of his young milb career.  He went 1 inning giving up 7 hits, 7 earned runs, with a walk and two strikeouts.  Marcus gave up two home runs versus Portland(Red Sox) top prospect Xander Bogaerts.

New Hampshire had a hole in their lineup tonight, as recently DFA’ed Clint Robinson is no longer with the Fisher Cats, and is currently In DFA limbo.  The Fisher Cats were unable to get anything going tonight versus Portland starter, and former college star Anthony Ranaudo.  Ranaudo is finally pitching like what scouts hope he could do, as he had 7 innings of 1 hit ball with 8 strikeouts.

Dunedin 3 – Lakeland 2

Scott Copeland started for Dunedin; he put together an outing of 5 innings, 2 hits, 2 earned runs, with 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts.  Afterwards Shawn Griffith, Tony Davis, and Blake McFarland put together 4 scoreless innings.

Dunedin had 11 hits, and 2 walks tonight while scoring Lakeland’s pitching.  Nick Baligod had 2 hits, Peter Money had 3 hits, Matt Newman went 2-4 with a HR and KC Hobson had a great night going 3-4 with a HR,

Lansing 1 – Fort Wayne 7

Daniel Norris was on the mound tonight for Lansing, he went 4 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts.  Kramer Champlin followed Daniel, and gave up 5 hits, and 5 earned runs over 3 2/3 innings.

Tonight the Lugnuts scored 1 run on 8 hits versus Fort Wayne’s pitching.  Gustavo Pierre continued to swing the bat well with 2 hits.  Dwight Smith was 1/3 with a walk, continuing to be a surprise to most who didn’t expect much as he was held back in extended spring-training to start the season.

Three Stars

3-Matt Newman

2-KC Hobson

1-Ryan Goins
