The Bisons hit five home runs and scored ten runs which masked Ricky Romero giving up six runs in 3.2 innings. New Hampshire lost, Lansing won and Dunedin were double rained out.
Buffalo 10 Louisville 7
It was the Ricky Romero show yesterday and it was a bit of a stinker. In 3.2 innings Ricky did not register a strikeout. He allowed 15 baserunners while getting 11 outs. Luoisville Fan had a summary in yesterdays MLU, here is the key summary: Ricky never looked comfortable and in control, likely because every inning started as a battle and endured that way.
The offense was strong with 5 home runs. Luis Jimenez, Mauro Gomez, Andy LaRoche, Ryan Goins and Moises Sierra went deep. Josh Thole had 3 hits, Jim Negrych had his usual 2. Anthony Gose was 0-5, his batting average is down to .228 and he is 2 for his last 24. A 5 run fifth was big for the Bisons, Moises Sierra and Andy LaRoche homered in that inning.
New Hampshire 2 Trenton 6
New Hampshire trailed 6-0 and scored a run in the eighth and another in the ninth. Tyson Brummett was back in the rotation as Chad Jenkins was promoted and he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. Matt Wright also gave up 3 runs.
Kevin Nolan provided the offense, he homered in the eighth and singled to drive in a run in the ninth.
Dunedin at Daytona - 2 games, postponed
The suspended game from Friday, as well as the regular game from Saturday, were rained out.
Great Lakes 5 Lansing 8
Lansing trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth when they scored 5 runs to take the win. Lansing had just 14 base runners, Great Lakes 21, but Lansing got the key hits while the Loons could not. In the key eighth inning the big hit was a bases loaded triple by Balbino Fuenmayor. Balbino then scored on a sac fly. The Lugnuts had 7 hits, no Lugnut had more than one.
