Ricky Romero was the story and he pitched well. Romero left with the lead but the bullpen coughed it up. Dunedin came back to win in extra innings. Buffalo had only two hits and lost. New Hampshire won even though Deck McGuire had another Deck McGuire type start. Lansing lost a close one.

Buffalo 0  Rochester 1

Buffalo had two hits, both singles, Rochester had 4 hits. One of Rochester's hits was a lead-off double. A sac bunt and a sac fly delivered the only run of the game. Justin Germano was due to start and Buddy Carlyle stepped in. He went four shutout innings with 7 strikeouts. Clint Everts was tagged for the run in his three innings.

Anthony Gose and Ryan Langerhans had the two singles. The Rochester starter was Kyle Gibson who went six and two thirds.

New Hampshire 7   Reading 3

Deck McGuire had a typical start, he was touched for 3 runs in just four innings. On the positive side he had 6 K's. But it took him 86 pitches to get through his four innings. Matt Wright, Chad Beck and Evan Crawford kept Reading off the scoreboard.

New Hampshire scored twice in the first inning. Ricardo Nanita singled, Ryan Schimpf tripled and Clint Robinson singled. The Fisher Cats trailed 3-2 in the eighth. A walk and a hit batter and a sacrifice put runners on second and third. Kevin Nolan singled in two runs and scored on a wild pitch. In the ninth a Brad Glenn double scored Nanita and Schimpf. Nanita and Amadeo Zazueta each had three hits. Kevin Nolan had two and Kevin Pillar took an oh-fer.

Dunedin 5  Brevard County 3

Ricky Romero pitched well. He didn't walk anyone. He was pitch efficient, he had a 75 pitch limit and he went seven innings. Romero left with a 3-1 lead, but at soon as he left Scott Gracey gave up two runs and the game was tied. In the tenth inning Marcus Knecht was the hero, he doubled in two runs with two outs in the inning.

Dunedin had just six hits but they also had six walks. Andy Burns got back on track with two hits.

Lansing 2  Quad Cities 3

Javier Avendano has had an up and down season, good start, bad start, good, bad. This was start number five and it was good. He gave up an unearned run on one hit over 5.2 innings. Tucker Donahue and Matt Johnson each conceded a run in relief.

The Lugnuts faced Lance McCullers, first round draft pick from last season. The Lugnuts only run off McCullers was unearned, Christian Lopes singled to drive in Jorge Flores who had walked. Lansing scored their second run in the ninth and loaded the bases with two outs but Dwight Smith grounded out.
