Two doubleheaders were rained out. New Hampshire and Dunedin played and won. Andy Burns continued his hot hitting and like Kevin Pillar he is making contact and has only 4 K's this season. Ryan Tepera and Casey Lawrence pitched well to get the wins.
Scranton at Buffalo - Doubleheader, rained out
New Hampshire 6 Binghamton 1
Through 6 innings the Fisher Cats had 3 hits and led 5-1. In the second inning two walks and a sac fly helped NH score their first run. In the sixth the Mets walked in three runs. The Fisher Cats ended with seven hits. Clint Robinson had two hits. Among the usual suspects Kenny Wilson, Kevin Pillar and Brad Glenn had a hit each.
Ryan Tepera put together a strong start, he pitched six innings, the only run was unearned, he gave up three hits and two walks with 4 K's. Fernando Hernandez finished out the last three innings.
Lakeland 3 Dunedin 7
The Jays scored three runs in the first and second innings and Andy Burns was in the middle of both scoring efforts. In the first Burns singled after Jones walked. Jacobo doubled them both in and he later scored on a groundout. In the second Burns hit a three run home run. Jones, who had two hits on the night, doubled in the seventh run.
Casey Lawrence cruised until the seventh when he gave up a two run home run. Lawrence gave up 4 hits in 6.1 innings. Evan Crawford pitched 1.2 innings in relief. Burns is now hitting .389 and he has struck out just 4 times in 36 at-bats.
South Bend at Lansing - postponed
The regular game was postponed as well as the suspended game from Friday night.
