Syracuse at Buffalo - postponed

There will be a  doubleheader on August 12 in case any of you want to head down to see two games.

Trenton 3  New Hampshire 6

The top of the order helped the Fisher Cats score five runs in the first three innings.  In the first Kevin Pillar doubled and John Tolisano singled.  One run scored on a balk and another on a Brad Glenn single.  In the third Pillar and Tolisano were on base for Ryan Schimpf to hit a three run home run.  Pillar was 3-5, Tolisano 2-3 with a walk.  Schimpf has four hits this season, three homers.

Marcus Walden pitched well.  On the positive side he got 9 groundouts versus one flyout, and until he tired in his last inning he didn't walk anyone.  On the negative side he did give up 7 hits and only lasted 4.1 innings.  Matt Wright was excellent in relief, 2.2 innings, one hit allowed.

Tampa 3  Dunedin 4

Dunedin scored in the seventh and eighth to steal a win.  Scott Copeland gave the Jays seven good innings but left down 3-2.  The comeback started in the eighth with two out, a walk and a hit batter got it going.  Jon Jones singled in the tying run.  In the eighth Gabe Jacobo tripled in the winning run.

The Jays had only five hits.  Jacobo had two.  Jones, Andy Burns and Matt Newman had the other hits and are the only hitters in the lineup batting .300.

Lansing 1  Bowling Green 10

Gustavo Pierre hit a home run in the first inning and it was downhill from there for the Lugnuts.  Taylor Cole was hit for five runs in less than three innings.  Three relievers all allowed runs.  Pierre was the only Lugnut with two hits.
