The bats were hot on Thursday but were a lot cooler on Friday. The Lugnuts won with strong performances by Taylor Cole, Christian Lopes and Emilio Guerrero. Dunedin had to go to extra innings to win. The Bisons got an eighth inning home run from Luis Jimenez to break the tie. Anthony Gose scored two runs thanks to two hits.
Rochester 2 Buffalo 3
With the scores tied at 2 in the bottom of the eighth Luis Jimenez hit a game winning home run. After 17 hits yesterday the Bisons were held down by Kyle Gibson, one of Minnesota's top prospects. Anthony Gose was 2-4 and scored the first two runs.
Reading 6 New Hampshire 1
Only four hits for the Fisher Cats, Clint Robinson had two of them. Marcus Walden started and gave up two runs, and lots of hits. Randy Boone was tagged for four runs in relief.
Dunedin 2 Clearwater 0 - 10 innings
The Jays had only two hits through nine innings and Clearwater had only three. Scott Copeland started for the Jays and pitched seven shutout innings. In the tenth Marcus Knecht singled in the go-ahead run and Michael Crouse doubled in the insurance run. Berti, Mooney and Jacobo had the other hits.
Lansing 5 Lake County 3
Taylor Cole finally got to pitch in full season ball and he delivered, six shutout innings, one hit, seven K's. Matt Johnson, Tucker Donahue and Chuck Ghysels each gave up a run in an inning of work. Christian Lopes led the offense, he was 3-3 with a walk. Emilio Guerrero had two more hits and two RBI's, Santiago Nessy drove in a couple.
