The affiliates managed two wins on the night but there were many exciting performances on this day.

Col. Springs 16 Las Vegas 4

It was an ugly day with 51s pitchers giving up 16 hits. Starter Yohan Pino lasted just 1.1 innings and gave up 11 runs on 11 hits and one walk. He was just recently promoted from double-A. Tim Redding gave up two runs in 4.2 innings, while Ron Uviedo allowed three runs in 3.0 innings. Travis Snider went 2-for-5 with one run scored. Adam Lind, Ricardo Nanita and Paul Phillips each had two hits. Nanita drove in two runs. Kevin Howard had a rough day with an 0-for-5 and three Ks.

New Hampshire 4 Bowie 3 (13 innings)

The Fisher Cats pulled out a rare win in extra innings. Deck McGuire received the start but was less than inspiring. He gave up eight hits and three walks in 5.0 innings. He did not strike out a batter and allowed three runs. Matt Wright came into the game and worked two scoreless innings. Fernando Hernandez, Aaron Loup, Matt Daly, and Evan Englebrook combined for 6.0 scoreless innings. Daly received the win after working 2.1 innings. Mark Sobolewski, Gabe Jacobo, and Sean Ochinko each had two hits. Ochinko also drove in two runs. Defensive whiz Brian Bocock went 0-for-3 but walked three times.

Lansing 9 Great Lakes 2

Aaron Sanchez received the start and allowed just one unearned run in 4.0 innings. He struck out five batters but also walked five. Tyler Ybarra pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four batters. Blake McFarland and Ajay Meyer also pitched. Kevin Pillar stole his 27th base and also slugged a grand slam. Carlos Perez had two hits, including a double, RBI and a walk. Andy Burns committed an error in the field but hit his eighth home run and walked twice. K.C. Hobson was 1-for-3 with two runs and two walks.

Spokane 7 Vancouver 3

Ben White was roughed up in his first start. He allowed five runs in 4.0 innings of work. He walked five batters and allowed six hits. Zack Breault was also beat up. Jon Lucas and Andrew Sikula held Texas' affiliate scoreless. The offense managed just four hits and short-season veteran Balbino Fuenmayor had two of those base-knocks. Nick Baligod and Danny Arcila had the other hits. Eric Phillips went 0-for-4 with three Ks. Ian Parmley was 0-for-5 with two Ks. Matt Newman went just 0-for-1 but walked three times.
