The affiliates split their four games on Saturday while the top prospects all had top prospect-y nights.
Tacoma 5 Las Vegas 15
Cashman Field was the place to be in Vegas on Saturday night (note: Probably not true). The 51s banged out 17 hits, nine of which were doubled or dingers. So let's get to those. Adeiny Hechavarria was 2-for-5 with two doubles and walk, David Cooper went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a dinger and Travis D'Arnaud went 3-for-5 with a homer. That could very well be the three stars, right there. Yan Gomes homered, doubled, and walked as well.
Joel Carreno pitched fairly effectively given the environment going 6.1 and allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out five.
Trenton 4 New Hampshire 3 (11 innings)
A fairly quiet night for the Fisher Cat bats. Koby Clemens and Mark Sobolewski each homered while Ryan Goins picked up a pair of hits and stole a base. Goins has been hot lately striking out only twice in his last ten games and OPSing over 1.000.
Casey Lawrence started this one and got smacked around a bit. Lawrence lasted 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits and four walks. A quintet of relievers worked the final six frames.
Tampa 1 Dunedin 6
Great pitching from the D-Jays in this one. Sean Nolin started and went 6.1 and allowed a run on two hits and two walks while striking out five.
Jake Marisnick keeps on rolling. After a somewhat slow start, Marisnick has taken the FSL by storm over the past two weeks. Saturday night saw him go 2-for-4 with his third homer in five games. For the season, Marisnick is now hitting .299/.392/.540 with five stolen bases. Even better, his OPS is above .900 against both lefties and righties. It's certainly not hard to envision Marisnick as the team's top prospect come the end of this season.
Clinton 6 Lansing 2
Lansing lost. Weird.
Marcus Walden started and went five surrendering just one hit and three walks. The duo of Blake McFarland and Javier Avendano didn't fare as well combining for all six runs in a disastrous 8th inning.
Carlos Perez picked up a pair of hits including a double while K.C. Hobson and Kenny Wilson each had a hit.
Three Stars:
3rd Star: Jake Marisnick- 2-for-4, HR
2nd Star: Travis D'Arnaud- 3-for-5, HR
1st Star: David Cooper- 4-for-5, 2 2B, HR
