Lansing and Dunedin got the pitching and the wins Monday night.  As for Las Vegas, never mind!

Colorado Springs 14 Las Vegas 2

Las Vegas, NV - This game was over by the second inning when the Rockies affiliate got a trey in the second inning.

Hitting - Everyone except for Ruben Gotay got a hit. Mike McCoy had the only two-hit night, drove in a run and drew a walk. Travis Snider knocked home the other run. Adeiny Hechavarria had a walk while Chris Woodward, David Cooper, Ricardo Nanita and Yan Gomes all had doubles.

Running - Anthony Gose and Hechavarria stole a bag each.

Pitching - Joel Carreno soaked up six innings but was torched for eight runs on a dozen hits (including two homers) with a walk.  He struck out three and got eight ground ball outs.  Lefty Bill Murphy fared even worse as he was whacked for six runs (four earned) in one inning thanks to five hits (including a long bomb) and a walk while whiffing a pair.  Jim Hoey struck out one in a perfect frame and Jerry Gil overcame a pair of hits and a walk to pitch a scoreless ninth.

Defence - Gotay and Hechavarria were charged with clanks while manning the middle infield.

Dunedin 5 Tampa 3

Tampa, FL - The D-Jays overcame a 3-2 deficit with three runs in the top of the eighth to beat the Yankees.

Hitting - Kevin Nolan led the attack with two hits and had Dunedin's lone extra-base knock.  The bottom of the order brought home the runs as Kevin Ahrens brought home one despite going hitless.  He did draw a pair of free passes.  Kenen Baili and Jack Murphy each had one hit and two RBI nights with Baili also getting a walk.  Ryan Schimpf and Jon Talley heard ball four twice while Michael Crouse, Marcus Knecht and Gabe Jacobo heard it once.

Running - Nothing but a zero in the stolen base department.

Pitching - Lefty Sean Nolin was just one out shy of a quality start by going 5 2/3 innings and surrendering three runs on six hits and a walk.  He gave up a home run but punched out five.  Dustin Antolin was the winner by pitching 2 1/3 scoreless frames and was only nicked for a hit and a walk.  Danny Barnes worked a one-hit ninth for his eighth save.

Defence - Knecht made an error in left.  Ahrens, Schimpf and Jacobo converted a 5-4-3 double play.

Lansing 7 Peoria 3

Peoria, IL - The Lugnuts scored the first five runs of the game to come away with a win over the Cubs affiliate.

Hitting - Kevin Pillar had a three-hit game and Carlos Perez was on base three times with a triple and a walk while scoring three times.  Chris Hawkins pushed his average to .359 by also getting aboard three times with two hits and a walk.  Jonathon Berti had two hits and brought home a run.  Kellen Sweeney singled, walked and had an RBI.  K.C. Hobson had a double and Andrew Burns walked.  Kenny Wilson was hitless in his five ABs.

Running - Berti and Pillar swiped second base once.

Pitching - Marcus Walden scattered just one hit and two walks over five shutout frames for the win.  He rung up four Ks and his groundout/flyout total was 10-1.  Javier Avendano allowed an unearned run over three innings and like Walden, gave up just one hit while compiling a 4-2 K/BB ratio.  Ajay Meyer surrendered two runs on three hits in one inning but did punch out a batter.

Defence - Perez made a throwing error behind the plate and was 0-for-2 throwing out baserunners with Avendano on the hill.
