The television camera always focuses on the baseball. And even when you're at the ball park, one instinctively follows the baseball, wherever it goes. It's not always easy to pay attention to the other people on the field.
But that's where the fun is!
"Let's say there are base runners on first and third, with one out or none out. The batter pops the ball up into foul territory behind the plate but deep - close to the fence and on the first base.... the catcher goes back for the ball. Everybody sees that, but not everybody sees that the shortstop has moved directly to second base and the second baseman has moved directly to a spot well inside second base but on a straight line between the ball and the bag.
