You may be paying good money for Sportsnet Ontario, or even all four Sportsnets; despite this you may be unable to watch tonight's Jays game... unless you get your cable from Rogers.
The new Rogers Sportsnet One channel launches today, and is currently only being carried on Rogers Cable. Much like when TSN 2 launched last year, the channel has not secured distribution on other carriers, and at the moment is only available on Rogers Cable. That means if you subscribe to Bell, Shaw, Videotron or something else you are flat out of luck. The channel will be carrying 25 Jays games for the rest of the season, including tonight's, plus Raptors, Canucks and English Premiere League games. There is currently no anticipated date for other carriers to pick up Sportsnet One, which you will presumably have to pay extra money for.
On a personal note I am indignant, especially because Rogers is doing this mid-season in a fairly blatant attempt to get fans to pressure their cable provider to add Sportsnet One, or even better (from their perspective) switch to Rogers. And here I was thinking the worst part was that commercial with the Nelly song.
